America the beautiful…and locked and loaded (16 photos)

a armed america guns family 0 America the beautiful...and locked and loaded (16 photos)
Kyle Cassidy traveled 15,000 miles over two years photographing Americans in their homes and asking one question: “Why do you own a gun?”

A good question, particularly since most of these guns are not easily reconcilable with the notion of self-defense and their true place should be somewhere in the Armed Forces. All the photos were later compiled in the book with its German edition being published this year. The pics below are taken from the latter. As said by Alan Cooperman from The Washington Post: “Each picture in Armed America could be a pro-gun advertisement – or an anti-gun poster. That’s what makes the book so riveting.” Check out Kyle’s Site HERE

is there a connection between big guns and small penises,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  4. observer says:

Self-defence against criminals is just a bonus of gun ownership – the main reason to arm the population is so that their own government can’t oppress them – like the english govt that the settlers were trying to escape…

  5. Miss Meganne says:

Its preparation for the zombie apocalypse. That’s why I own guns >.>

  11. deacon11420 says:

    from US vs. Miller….1939.
In the absence of any evidence tending to show that possession or use of a ‘shotgun having a barrel of less than eighteen inches in length’ at this time has some reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, we cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear such an instrument. Certainly it is not within judicial notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary military equipment or that its use could contribute to the common defense.

so we’re not supposed to have anything EXCEPT firearms that are used by the military! Which is it?

  13. Ted Bundy says:

    huh?

  14. monkeyman says:

US has most lax gun laws in OECD… It also has the highest murder rate and gun related accidental deaths per capita by a VERY wide margin. Hands up all those who agree there might be some correlation here?

    Or I’ll shoot yer…

  15. You really are stupid, aren't you? says:

Gun-owning Christians: hypocrits, every last one.

  16. Locode says:

Those people are all forked in the head.

  17. Bungle says:

in Switzerland, every able bodied man between the the age of 18 and 39 is required to keep and maintain a military rifle, required to pass a proficency test, and required to qualify on the range. They do this instead of keeping a standing army, or a large police force. They have less crime. How about that correlation? Why didn't this jackanape wander the Swiss highlands asking this question?
And why don't all you "enlightened" folks put a sign on your front lawns that say something like "Proud to NOT own ANY guns"? Give it a try, let me know how it goes.

  18. guest says:

do you think criminals commit crimes with guns that are registered to their name or have a pistol permit or care about having a pistol permit. if a criminal is gonna shoot somebody or rob a bank or commit and gun crime they are most likely going to get the firearm illegally definitely not use a gun that's connected to their name. more strict gun laws make things more difficult for the law abiding citizen not criminals, that's why they're criminals they do stuff illegally
