I won't offer my opinion on whether an "artist" is "talented". Pop music is pop music, regardless of genre... it's not really art. The strong sales of Kanye West and Jay-Z illustrate the point. True art is appreciated by the few, not the masses. Now, I'll offer my opinion on talent: no one has risen to the level of artist in Rap/Hip-hop & gained wide acceptance since Ice T's "Watchtower".
