Yep, that’s exactly how my sister’s think of a steering wheel. I’d tried to have them explain the mechanics of a car and they had the most puzzled look on their faces.
On another note, I guess the initial changes for Pepsi’s logo was to try to differentiate themselves with Coca-Cola. I guess once you get started with the changes, it’s easy to get carried away with it’s redesigning. Heck, look at celebrity faces.
