Yeah, since I’m a Boilermaker at Fort Lewis and McChord and occasionally Whidbey, I must not know ANYTHING at all about how much those guys make. Not all mechanics are Navy or air Force, but I’m sure you know that. The union workers and contractors I work with get paid betwen $26 and $52 an hour. My dad, however, was broke when he was a repairman on the Nimitz, the KittyHawk and the Stennis. You’re right about military, but not contracting union workers

Dear Hell Hath No Fury,
Oh lordy, if only they DID pay us mechanics a lot!
I got my usual $318 a month while in the Army in Viet Nam, my work kept the chopper in the air after it got totally ripped up by a 51 caliber, my pilot died, but the co-pilot, even with his torn up leg flew back to a safe area.
No mam…pay in the armed forces sure isn’t equal to the task involved.

It’s a good thing they pay mechanics about $2487576 an hour to make sure that doesn’t happen. Not to mention all the people that have to check and re-check… I’ll bet that guy’s going to have nightmares forever.
