Eleanor Roosevelt was tacitly understood by the public to be quite unattractive but she was held in the hearts of most Americans as a very beautiful person. None of us have the choice of being born beautiful but we do have the choice of being beautiful, loving people or not. The aging of the observer tends to bring this view into perspective.
