And we’re still ranked #14 in the world. Imagine how good we’d be if we actually cared and put forth an effort. The country that “invented the language” is ranked 9th and lives and dies by the sport. Since we’re in the same WC group, we’ll see how that turns out.

Speaking as someone who played the game in youth leagues, high school, college, semi-pro, and recently retired from a recreational league at the age of 40, I feel qualified to say that “futbol” is, indeed, boring most of the time. But I’ll agree that I’d rather have birds eat sunflower seeds directly from my eye sockets than have to watch baseball.

Football (And it is football, we invented the game and we invented the language) is the most followed and played team sport on the planet with a World Cup that comprises hundreds of countries including America. The way you view foottbal is generally how the he rest of the planet feels about boring American ‘Football’ and uber-camp baseball.
