Thats craaaaazy!!, but at least they answered that question floating around in my head about the trees.
Here is PA there is a similar place, just without all the ice, Raystown Lake is a visual treasure trove for divers, when they built the dam that the reservoir is built on one of the low lying towns was just abandoned and flooded, there are still whole building, roads, trees, etc just submerged under hundreds of feet of water. That would make a great TheChive post if any pics can be found of it
Spirit Lake at Mt. St. Helens is that way, too. The trees were blasted into the lake, but they float vertically. Lake Cushman in Olympic National Park is man-made, they cut down enormous trees and the stumps can scare the ever-loving heck out of you and eat your boat. Some of the trees are still growing. Very strange to see a hundred-foot cedar growing in the middle of a clear lake. I’ll dig up some of my pics.
