Why are the cars the same? The blue ones are probably taxis but the red ones also are all the same and the black ones are all the same and most seem to have lights or taxi banner on roof.
My first thought too.. but they do appear to be lights in the pics, thinking it must be a light failure, and everyone wants to be gone at the same time..

This is pretty normal for a traffic intersection in Asia. My guess is Shanghai. The same colored cars are the different cab companies.
I don’t see too many motorcycles in the traffic…
