For those of a notion to swim in the lake in #15, the water temps of those mountain lakes in the rockies are barely above freezing. Hiking…yes. Picnic…yes. Serene meditation…yes. Tire swings and swimming….No.

i camp at staircase in the Olympic National Forest at least twice each year. gorgeous, freezing river water. it’s not a trip unless you jump off the rocks into the water a few times. Heck, I’ve had to bust out the soap a few times. seems Heart and I have bigger balls….but I still love you.
