Unboxing a tactical nuclear penguin (8 Photos)

This is the beer everybody's talking about these days, BrewDog's Tactical Nuclear Penguin. The beer boasts a whopping 32% alcohol content. But there is a story behind these photos. Parry, the man who took them bought this beer for his friend, dying of a terminal illness. He says, 'I bought this beer for my terminally ill friend to drink, but today he died. Tomorrow, I shall open it and toast his life well led.'
Life is short, Chivers, drink beer.

Handwritten expiry date… that is one awesome beer. Hope the guy’s friend is in a better place now. And that he’s got beer 😉

nothing beats a budweiser out of a can.

    • EriktheRed

except every beer in existence other than Pacifico. That stuff is vial.

      • HellHathNoFury

It’s actually bottled. But it is rather vile.

I’m guessing sir GARTH here has yet to leave the country (or try a beer from another one)

        • liar

HHNF since when do you drink beer

  • youngAnnikensucked

here’s to hoping heaven is a keg

  • Cynikill

Can we mix this with some of the women from the last post? Should be one heck of a party.

  • Nicnac

that must be some nasty-ass beer

  • HellHathNoFury

Parry, you get a million props for being a dedicated friend and doing nice things for your guy even when things got tough. You don’t just deserve an epic beer, you deserve an epic life.

  • Jibrody

I live in Canada and have been wishing to order in some brewdog. They sell PUNK IPA in Toronto, but I live on the east coast. Deprived life.

  • LiaMMV

My flatmate did some promotional work for these guys last summer. A friend of his is friends with the founders of the brewery. As a result we have well over a thousand bottles of various Brew Dog beers in our basement. We throw some pretty amazing parties.

  • NTFW

it actually doesn’t taste that bad.. strong yes! bad no!

I’ll send you one jibrody, i’m in TO.

I had Sam Adams Triple Bock years ago and it was AMAZING! The alcohol content on that was around 18% and that was considered outragous at the time. This takes it to a whole new level! I bet it’s tasty.

  • Equalizer

    I want one for Christmas!

  • hitman219

At 32% it’s not really beer, but barley wine. I have had Sam Adams Triple Bock 18% ABV and there is almost zero carbonation. Definitely an acquired taste. All that being said, Parry everyone should have friends like you!

    • top dog

I was wondering when somebody was going to figure it out. The strongest “beer” I ever had was Christmas beer in Germany. Monks only make once a year, around Christmas time.

  • Robbo

    R.I.P. to your friend

  • Mustafa_Beer

Life is about choices, some you make… some are made for you. Its not the choices that define life. Its what you do with them. I choose to raise a beer to toast Parry’s friend. That sounds like a plan!

  • Phill

Cheers, Parry. You are quite the friend.

  • top dog

I find it hard to drink anything with a skull and crossbone on it, and this bottle has three of them on it. The last time I saw something with close to that on it was a bottle of rat poison. I’am not saying this is rat poison but I will pass on drinking it. I’ll drink a shot of V.O., thats work for me.

  • Mattythegooch

Tempe’s own Kilt Lifter from Four Peaks ain’t too shabby…..Cheers.

    • Floopa_Joopa

Us AZ Chivers do have some pretty down-to-Earth, awesome breweries out here.

    this is stupid.

Please find a gun and a hole to crawl into. Once there, proceed to paint the walls of your troll cave with your brains.

Sink the Bismarck has since taken the title of world’s strongest beer at 41% But TNP is still $30 more per bottle.

  • Greg

  • number 22
