Actually its done with led lights or flashlights. I've done it before. You put the camera on a tripod set it for a long exposure time. Take enough time to mess with the settings and get them just right. And quickly use the led lights or flashlights to create whatever shape you want. Its not photoshop at all.

They’re long exposure shots. Set your exposure to be open as long as your camera can use a candle or light and draw something in the dark with it. Enjoy the results.
