I wonder why Bug's Life and Toy Story 2 had such lousy (relatively speaking) opening weekends. Anyone know?

Probably coincided with an HP release. Just a guess.

      Pixar had it right

  • Joeyk

I have nothing but respect for Pixar, they know how to make a great movies while the rest of hollywood struggles to keep up

    • Matt

You got that right. You can’t go wrong with a movie from Pixar.

  • appleinfo

    Bit o’ trivia:
Steve Jobs created Pixar after getting exiled by Apple…. Then Apple buys him back.

    • ROR

Then Steve Jobs proceed to make a bunch of shitty products.

      • HA

Shitty products like what? You mean some of the most popular products in the world that have other products using the same technology that they developed?

Love Apple or Hate Apple (which you do obviously), if a company really made shitty products, it wouldn’t be in business long, yet Apple has remained one of the largest companies in the world for 20+ years. Guess a lot of people enjoy paying for shitty products, right?

        • Ulises

          Pixar Win

        • Anonymous

          Yes, that’s it exactly.

          • Anonymous

of course people enjoy shitty products. just look at Dells and toyotas. Just look at the shopping network!! And Apple had a LONG line of terribly shitty things that they tried to cram down our throats be4 they got something right: be4 the ipod they made the famously shitty ROKR, the Apple Puck Mouse, Apple Newton, Apple Lisa, the Macintosh Portable, Macintosh TV, 20th Anniversary Macintosh, Apple Pippin, Apple EWorld, Apple Taligent, Apple Cyberdog… people LOVE shitty things

            • Anonymous

the apple G4 cube bombed so bad, their stock plummeted didn’t recover until they made the ipod.

            • Steve Jobs

Oh no…please don’t look at my past…it’s very embarrassing!

To Ha my little Apple Fanboi…don’t worry about Anonymous’s comments. Although true and he/she has a point…just thing iPhone 5, 6 & 7 are on the way!

  • tommybhoy

Toy Story + Monsters Inc + Nemo = WIN!!

  • Beamer

Lots of good movies on their resume…I love UP!

I don’t really watch kids movies, but you have to admire what Pixar did. Plus, they spend 2 and a hlaf years working on a story before really working heavily on animation. If more production houses did this, we wouldn’t have to suffer through most Michael Bay movies and a downpour of shitty remakes.

    • Me

I don’t consider Pixar movies kids movies. Seriously, how embarrassing to Hollywood is it when a cartoon about talking toys with a number 3 in the title of the movie has more depth and genuine heartfelt emotion than most movies made for “adults”?

  • Suzanne

All great movies(the ones I’ve seen anyway), but I think they need to do a Monsters, Inc. sequel.

    • HellHathNoFury

I won’t ruin the plot for you, but November 16, 2012.

      • Suzanne

        Really? Sweet! Thank you!

  • SaintxXxAsh

Why do so many pixar movies usually have a single parent? Same goes for most Disney movies.

    • Nicnac

Whether it’s one or both parents missing ‘orphans’ make interesting protagonists.
Look at Frodo, Harry Potter, any of the disney princesses, Luke Skywalker, etc…
Chances are, if you have been bored by a leading character, he or she has a normal family…

  • HellHathNoFury

I’ll even watch Monsters Inc even when my kid’s not home. Mike Wazowski!

    • frenchgirl

I own them all and I don’t even have a kid!! Nemo and Monsters Inc are such feel good movies! so are the “toy stories”!

  • Nicnac

“Oh sure. Blame the guy with the one eye!”

  • aosux

I’d say they’re doin’ pretty well. They are budgeting masters!

  • Bud Ugly

    I’m, like, so fully jealous.

  • john

Actually, Steve Jobs did not create Pixar. It was sold to him by George Lucas for approx $100K, and that covered mostly the hardware and Renderman. It was back in 1986 or 87. George didn’t ( and still doesn’t) need the money and was not interested in pushing it.

  • Hill Billy

Hey you forgot the Pixar did all those gummy fruit saver commercials back in the day!!! I still love those things!!!

  • buttnapkin

  • Common Sense

Pixar does something brilliant. They create kids movies that:

    1. don’t talk down to kids
    2. are enjoyable by adults

    A win-win.

  • P-90

The Incredibles is a great film.
What company made Monsters VS Aliens?

    • Gecko

      think that was Dreamworks, maybe

  • Buffet

When are we gonna see some Pixar porno man?

  • Phideauxe

  • sam

    what about meet the robinsons?

    • http://ruminations.com/hellhathnofury HellHathNoFury

Disney, sadly. Probably the funniest movie I’ve seen since Emperor’s New Groove. Yay for Goob and I love when he meets the family.

  • saraheleanor17

I absolutely love Pixar, every one of their movies are just fantastic :D
