4708 lunar year in China (17 HQ Photos)

2010 is the Year of the Tiger. Chinese months are reckoned by the lunar calendar, with each month beginning on the darkest day. New Year festivities traditionally start on the first day of the month and continue until the fifteenth, when the moon is brightest.

Yeah, I just heard that for the first time too.

#1 sums up that holiday the best, people blowing the city to holy hell with fireworks. Most of these photos are Orientalism cliches and not more than a few moments on some afternoon variety show. Food, Fireworks, and Fucking hangovers…that's what it's all about

I guess since this kinda stuff happens in Japan every day, China needs to at least have one WTF day.
