Etch-A-Sketch turns 50 (17 Photos)

For anyone to be able to do this is just
incredibly amazing. Anyone who has ever used an etch-a-sketch
realizes the difficulty of doing even the most basic pictures or
scenes, let alone actual art or recreations.
Totally unbelievable that anyone can do this.

But true artists find a way,
it may take months or even years but opportunities present
themselves, skills are learned,
confidence is gained and everything comes together. Einstein
himself, pictured in #2, would
even be amazed at the amazing creative
skills these artists have displayed.

Because when it is seen, bricks will be shat.

Amazing, I can't even imagine how they did that, I can't even draw a circle with it.

I'm calling shenanigans on 8.

sure, these are good and all, but y'all clearly have not seen MY work.

#8 is impossible isn't it? How do you draw the three eggs without a line connecting any of them? I call B/S.

Damn, the only thing I could with mine was draw a straight line….and that wasn't all that good. Whoever did this is good…..real good.

The Etch a Scetch exhibit is at The Children's Museum in Indianapolis until Aug 1st. Most of the artwork shown above is on display there.

The eggs are easy – the line 'connecting them' goes to the top of the screen. If you go over it again exactly, it vanishes. (you can still see them faintly)

Wow – some people are crazy talented & must have the patience of a saint or something
kinda makes me want to run out buy my kids an etchasketch and then hog it to see if I can draw something simple like a house

Agree – the eggs on #8 don't seem plausable, can't ever recall that going back over your line 'erased it' if it does then fair play…

That would suck if you just got done one of these masterpieces and one of your damn wiener kids came in and shook it up.

I believe these are done with computers controlling the knobs.
