Your high school guidance counselor called. He said he guesses he was wrong when he said you would never amount to anything. Congrats.

  1. Omar Rahoman says:

    OMG! Hollywood smartening up!?

  2. AnyoneForCoffee says:

How many did Bush take a year?

FFS, he even called his ranch the Western White House and had it kitted out as an office with full press facilities, he was there so often!

    • vince says:

At least Bush acknowledged 'the job must go on". I'd rather see a 'working' vacation from a president than one who stays away from the oil-ravaged gulf coast, especially after he encouraged us to vacation there. What a bum.

      • Nicnac says:

Bush was on vacation when Katrina hit. Stayed on vacation. Sent the National Guard in after 2 days. Stayed on vacation. A week or two later, decided he probably needed to do something.
        Yah.

        • DeMonikk1 says:

Because we all know how quick Obama was to respond on the oil spill, right?

          • its_forge says:

LOL he commented on it the same day and was talking with people about it that night. WTF do you want from him, magic? He's just an executive, not fucking Superman.

        • vince says:

uh… you think he was SUPPOSED to go to Orleans DURING a hurricane? After it was over, he did go there. Besides, FEMA was created for just such a situation- it just turns out the people running FEMA weren't prepared. Bush couldn't do everyone's job for them. Nitwit.

          • Bush got 2 terms says:

Bush couldn't even do his own job, nitwit. Anderson Cooper was in NOLA a week before Bush. Bush didn't just wait out the hurricane, he waited out a working week of people dying in oppressive heat because the National Guard was too understaffed to help them, because Bush started a war his own father condemned.

            • splah says:

it's a lot easier for anderson cooper to go somewhere than a sitting president….he's a journalist thats his whole schtick

              • its_forge says:

Bush was the President. The President says "let's go for a Reuben sandwich in Bonn, Germany" and 159 people make sure he gets there in time for lunch. If Bush wanted to go to New Orleans it would have been the job of his staff and the Secret Service to make sure he got there when he said he wanted to be. Bush didn't give the slightest scintilla of a flying f*ck about New Orleans "that's where all them black folks live innit" and he still couldn't possibly care less. The man is an egomaniacal sociopath.

      • Bush clearing Bush says:

Compare percentage of days spen on vacation. Guess who was absent more often. Stop defending a retard. Oops, can't say that Sarah Palin might get mad. Better just call you the n-word 6 times on national radio, then she'll defend me. Not that republicans are racist or anything. =p

    • C2122 says:

Bush went to his ranch and met with world leaders there. Obama is spending 30k a NIGHT of YOUR money playing golf.

    • fizzle says:

What relevance does Bush have to this video?

  3. mindnumbrobot says:

Even when celebrities are right, I still don't care what they think.

  4. nak3dsnake says:

Its not that he's taking more vacations, its that they are very posh and expensive.

  5. blah says:

I'm not exactly a supporter of obama, however most jobs in the united states give there employees 2 vacations a year. A term is 4 years…… do the math 4 x 2 = 8 vacations…. hes taken 6 sooo what?

    • Kjellupa says:

He's been in office for only a year and a half.

    • ssss9999 says:

Thank you! People act like he isn't allowed to do anything fun or for himself because he is the President. I didn't much care for Bush, but as long as he was doing his job while he was at the Ranch I didn't see it as such a big deal.

  6. ssss9999 says:

So what if he takes vacations. Is he not allowed vacations because he is the President? People need to stop focusing on this mundane shit and focus on real problems.

    • C2122 says:

Dude, it is the President JOB to focus on the REAL problems. It is or JOB to vote for the right people. So, as it stands, the President and the American people aren't doing their jobs. Problem is the American people don't get vacations. We have to work to pay taxes to fund the Presidents vacations.

Also, yeah, Americans can take vacations too but we sure as hell don't get to go to Martha's Vineyard and pay 30,000 a night.

  7. @100window says:

Political humour by a chat show host and posted on the internet. There is no way this could turn sour.

  8. nouu says:

all you idiots that voted for this failure, good job you've done incredible damage to this country.

    • Slapface 3000 says:

Just following the damaging tradition of every President before him.

    • Thrush says:

Were you happy with the outcome of the previous President? I'm not a huge Obama fan, but it's not like we're coming off of 8 wonderful years. And I'm sure McCain would not be doing much better than Obama.

    • its_forge says:

Really? What exactly would that be? If you choose to answer please refrain from using meaningless talking-point phrases you got from Fox or the Tea Party. Thank you.

    • splah says:

it's just the way things have been passed in congress….Healthcare and Financial reform who actually knows what contained in those 1000's of pages of legalize….and the scary thing is that these things won't take effect for a couple years when Obama won't be in office anymore

      • its_forge says:

The healthcare bill has already been thoroughly analyzed by healthcare professionals, insurance professionals and an armada of accountants. You can find all the answers to your questions on the World Wide Web. Welcome to the 21st century.

      • Insert Name Here says:

You sir are an idiot. 1000's pages really? Do you really think people in congress are gonna read 500 pages then be like fuck it, this book is way too long. Jesus Christ man.

        • top dog says:

You must be from texas. Of course they read it, who do you think wrote it. Everything you need to know about your Government is on the net. You do this everyday don't you? try educating yourself sometime. READ UP ON IT!!!!!

          • its_forge says:

Ha, the insurance companies wrote it. Actually the healhcare initiative that passed is almost verbatim what Newt and the boys proposed as an alternative to the failboat attempt made by Hillary in the 90s, but you won't hear any legislator or news pundit anywhere saying that of course.

  9. Brandon says:

Oh you silly Americans. How long will it take the lot of you to realize that no matter who is running your country, there will always be something to complain about and people who disapprove? There is no such thing as a perfect politician or leader, and that is basically the case everywhere, so get over it.

    • C2122 says:

There is such a thing as one that isn't completely incompetent. Obama is not him though.

    • westerly says:

Oh you silly Non – Americans. How long will it take "the lot" of you to realize that the ability to freely complian and disapprove is what makes this country so great. We understand that "there is no such thing as a perfect politician or leader, and that is basically the case everywhere" – the difference is that we keep fighting to improve on that situation while you just "get over it".

  10. aosux says:

Here is my question. Why would any establishment charge the President to stay there? If the President came into my business, regardless what type, it would be on the house. And I don't even like Obama…or Bush for that matter.

    • Nicnac says:

well if they didn't charge, Faux news, the GOP, and every hater would be crying foul because their guy had to pay, or why is he getting perks? I don't get perks. Or, is here money being passed under the table. Or, the turrists did it.

    • Rusty says:

There's laws about government officials and employees receiving gifts over a certain dollar value. So, even if the innkeeper offered him free room and board, he would not legally be able to accept it.

Not that I'm defending him or anything – each night he spends there is something like 2 and a half years worth of my taxes.

      • top dog says:

Thats true, Presidents are held to a certain dollar amount they can accept, all elected officials are, thats to keep them from taking advantage of the public. Presidential vacations are paid for by tax payers money, theres a reason for that, and(thats all Presidents),even Bush, Clinton, Reagan and every other president before them, so quite whinning about vacations. And another thing, they(Presidential vacations)are schedule, and they(Presidents)take them when they can. First thing first, find out exactly how your Government is suppose work, google it, hell, it's on the web.

  11. mgd says:

please inform me who is better to take his place? palin? gingrich? oh maybe mccain? he'll win again by default

  12. McBeastie says:

Why are we so divided against one another. Why aren't we demanding the end to the two-party system instead of flinging insults at one another? The last two presidents haven't done anything to progress this nation, but we are so steadfast in defending one and vilifying the other. And why do I think posting this rant on theChive will do any good? Huh?

    • Hey, i agree with you.

      • top dog says:

Heyyyyy, we got three parties, we got the green party, and the tea party is trying to sneak in there somewhere, thats three, ain't it? Hehehehe!!!! Besides he was on vacation at Martha's Vineyard, I think that was second home to the first bush. The only reason the second bush didn't go there was because he was not invited.

    • Voice of Reason says:

Well, first of all, America has Plurality voting system that maintains two party dominance. The majority of Europe has a Proportional Representation voting system. Unless America changes our voting system your pipe dream is impossible.

  13. ldale says:

Damn right!! Both parties are corrupt and screwing the american people. Its time for people to start thinking for themselves and holding all politicians accountable.

  14. BabyMistakes says:

We're just delaying the inevitable downfall of the U.S. as an individual nation, within a world of individual nations. What we need to be focused on is a one world unit with multiple divisions, all answering to the same elected board of world officials. But those elected officials answering to another level of elected world officials. With an odd number of widely spanning viewpoint camps representing all possible walks, eliminating the threat of a single majority party. And prepare for our introduction into the intergalactic community. The earth working as one unit in preparation for the dawn of our new universal awareness. Duh. Everyone knows that.

    • That makes more sense than some things. A sad commentary in and of itself.

    • Kjellupa says:

Are you a Mason by any chance?

    • its_forge says:

So ridiculously this, although I'm a firm believer in physics and therefore no interstellar travel. How fast can you go? A third the speed of light? Probably not even that. So you're talking 20, 30, 50, more years just to get to the next solar system, which doesn't have any planets that can sustain life. The nearest one of *those* might be 150 light years or 500. Nobody is coming visiting.

      • its_forge says:

The fastest we've gone yet is like .00002 times the speed of light. HAAH!! I don't think we'll be getting any extrastellar visitors.

        • BabyMistakes says:

So if you personally, can't identify a science supporting interstellar travel, it isn't possible? It doesn't exist? Science continues to evolve along with everything else my friend. Not science per se, but our understanding of modern science. What we insist is scientific fact now, will most definitely change, if only slightly. Consider the Einstein-Rosen bridge. And ask yourself which is more ridiculous, assuming that we are the only, or at least the most technologically advanced species of being in the entire universe as we know it (universe is assumed infinite), or is it probable that we are definitely not the only species in the universe, and of the other intelligent beings throughout, we are by far not the oldest, nor most technologically advanced? Look into the Drake Equation. If you are a physics enthusiast, you should recognize that at one time, it was the very science that said man could not fly. I'm riding on an airplane tomorrow.

          • its_forge says:

Noooooo, I would ***never*** insinuate or imply that there aren't any other advanced races in the universe, that would be massively idiotic. Maybe the Einstein-Rosen-Podolsky bridge might do the trick; if so I wanna be Jack O'Neill. Especially if there's a Major Carter involved. Or for that matter a Major Kusanagi. ::blink blink::

  15. fasterthanu says:

Fuck Obama, most useless bastard in America.

    • its_forge says:

Fuck Republicans, even more useless because all they can do is say "no" and not offer any alternatives, either to what the Dems are trying or to what they've been doing since 1980.

  16. its_forge says:

    Yeah really.

  17. Lulu says:

    This funny how?

Though Letterman would be alot better if he got rid of that little bald critter Paul.
    I hate that fucker!

    Sorry, what was the question?

  18. MiPo_TheGoaT says:

Where has little Ross Perot been….I miss that little bugger…

  19. sippinator94 says:

Reagan, we need you. Come back.

    • its_forge says:

LOL to death. Reagan was the first guy since WWII to drive the federal budget deficit above 5 trillion dollars. You know who we really need? We really need Eisenhower.

    • its_forge says:

LOL @ my response to this being deleted. Hey all you deficit hawks? Reagan was the first president since WWII to get the deficit over 5 trillion dollars. It wasn't paid back down again until Clinton left office.

  20. Someone says:

Wow, you guys serious? Yeah, he's not perfect, but he's done a hell of a lot better than the guy you voted in for TWO terms. He's been able to help your country get out of the hole that Bush put you in. So what if he gets holidays? Who cares what he does while on holiday? At least he's a competent leader.

    • Someone else says:

He's helped get the US out of the hole? wow… Do you have any idea what the US deficit is now?

A competent leader? What exactly has he done to be considered a competent leader other than send tingles up journalists legs?

      • its_forge says:

"Tingle up the leg" is what Chris Matthews said. Chris Matthews also wanted to snuggle up into the arms of Fred Thomson for Chrissake. Really bad example dude.

The US deficit. The budget deficit? That'd be the one that didn't exist when Clinton left office right? Well when Bush left office it was over 9 trillion dollars and Bush's spectacular momentum has driven it to 13.5 trillion. Practically none of that was anything anyone has done since January 2009. TARP and the auto bailouts were Bush programs. The stimulus bill was but a tiny fraction the size of TARP and is already starting to pay for itself. And the health care bill won't cost anyone anything for years and years to come, and in fact may not ever increase the deficit. Learn 2 play, noob.

        • Footing the Bill says:

Yes cause the Bailouts were Bush's ideas, not the Democratic Congress that had all the say. Yeah and health care will not pay for itself. I and every other working honest american has to pay for the losers that can't get a real job with benefits because they are lazy morons.

          • its_forge says:

Not *even* dignifying this with a real response. If you honestly think people who can't afford health care are losers and just lazy, you really, really need to push yourself away from that keyboard and go outside and live your life. The bailouts were a Bush program, and you saying they weren't doesn't change that – that's a tactic employed by right-wing legislators and media by the way, and it's really stupid.

          • mar says:

footing the bill, if i may? *gets on knees*…………..: D
