y'know, when you told me I was "gonna get blown on the beach" . . . I had something else in mind.
Joe
Looks like it could be fun… i'd go there just to see wht it 's all about.
BigDingo
Flying on it doesn't seem so bad… not flying in it seems awful

Late night sex on the beach must be insane there!!! I wonder they have screaming pelicans there
chrisdg74
I see what you did there.

Exact same configuration in Bali. Kinda fun.

I've personally been there, the idiots who dont read the signs and use that section of beach there deserve being sandblasted.
KWJ
Yup–it's well worth the trip, and there are giant signs telling you that you need to stay away, yet every single time a plane takes off there are a bunch of people there taking pictures, not realizing that flying sand and cameras don't go well together.
Beautiful Island, except for that part.
Mike
WOW. Just…….WOW!!!!

That's actually a pretty short landing in the video. It looks like he touched down on the blast pad. Most of them aren't as close as that. Can't help thinking the sound of the engines spinning up just before is in response to the copilot saying, "Er, dude, were you actually aiming for the beach?"

My grandparents took me there when I was a kid–I actually remember being on that beach. The entire area smells like burning rubber. The rest of the island is pretty beautiful though

I loved it there! And watching the planes come and go is okay, but when you're in the plane, it's a fucking different experience.
I live there … You would NEVER see ANY locals doing that!! lol.. and you spelled the name wrong it's St.Maarten
assman
are you French or Dutch, and were you merely correcting the fact that the editor didn't punctuate or capitalize? cause they def SPELLED it the same as you did, just no period or capital letters.
It's a cool place but customs there is a joke (very unorganized, and cold hearted) and the approach from there to St Barths is way better IMO

There are quite a few related pics around the airliners.net site of varying aircraft landing at that airport.
