I remember this commercial as a kid. Before the internet, we actually had to use books for research.

Stan Freberg is a radio/audio comedian from roughly the beginning of Time Itself; his voice is readily recognizable by any member of my parents' generation (that would be people in their 70s give or take) who listened to radio or enjoyed the cartoons they showed in the theaters in the 50s and 60s. He created an album for example called "Stan Freberg's America" which is pretty darn funny. The blonde kid here is his son Donavan who naturally is also in the creative comedy biz, apparently a little further in the background than ol' Dad. I was wary of encyclopedia salespeople even when **I** was a kid; I was like hmm, what happens when something new goes down? We actually had encyclopedias in the house but they were frozen in time at like 1954. And look at that computer!!

Sad part is I remember when this commercial was on TV(1992). You young-uns and your interwebs have it easy. We had to use those huge books.
And, just to make sure I sound like an old man – "We had to walk uphill(both ways) in 2 feet of snow just to get to the library."

That was funny? Surely it was as banal and stupid as all adverts. OK, so the reference to ‘The so called greenhouse effect’ was classic US stupidity and as such was quite amusing. Hardly worth viewing really though.
