An evolution of F1 in High-Res (28 HQ Photos)

Formula One Grand Prix has been one of the most exciting series of racing, but do you know where it all began? While the first Grand Prix race was in 1950, it unofficially began in the streets of France in 1895, going from Paris to Bordeaux. Things were much different back then, and the sport was very pure. Drivers would have their mechanic ride with them, and it was considered much more of an endurance race than current days. Now, the cars have been compared to a jet fighter plane, thanks to the technological advances. Every aspect of the race has been scrutinized, to maximize each team's chance of success. Even the drivers are trained to be in top notch physical condition for their races. It's truly a battle on the track, and only one will stand victorious at the end of the day. If you have never seen an F1 race, it's never too late to become a fan.

#15 is Patrick Depailler with the Alfa Romeo. He would die later in this very car. How sad.

#16 is John Crichton-Stuart, Marquis of Bute, Earl of Windsor, Viscount Ayr, Lord Crichton of Sanquhar and Cumnock, Viscount Kingarth, Lord Montstuart Cumbrae and Inchmarnock, Baron Cardiff, and Viscount Mountjoy and Earl of Dumfries (coolest name ever!) He's sporting the now famous Simpsons Bandit.
