Well Chivers, you really outdid yourselves in Fluvanna County (2 Photos, Email)

#4 Must. Hold. Back. Tears…nope, they're coming out.

It's lunchtime here on the East Coast and I just had a chance to check the update on this story. I donated myself yesterday and I want to raise a pint to everyone else who did! To the crew of Fluvanna – first round is on me (when we're all not on duty)!

And, to the ASSHAT yesterday who wanted to buy a video game instead of donating to this crew – listen pal, after your next car accident I (or my fellow 'brothers or sisters in EMS') will NEVER leave you in you in that ditch in your time of need (even if our pagers went off at 2 am and woke us up and you reek of alcohol). And, when you look up at me (or any of my other brothers or sisters) and say thank you I'm going to smile say, "It's no problem at all!" Because that is who we all are, we will always be there to help you!

I have to disagree about the folks on the internet. I’ve been very active on the net for around 20 years (moreso then than now). While I was having my 15 minutes, I realized that the overwhelming majority of netizens are exceedingly kind and compassionate. There are, proportionately, very few *sswipes. They are just the sort who make the most noise and get the most attention. That’s the way of most large categories of people…except for the groups that specifically gather for a negative purpose, VR or RL (hate groups have very few, if any, people worth more than a thimble full of p*ss) . The vast majority of netizens are *awesome* when you give them a chance to be their best.

I'm just a drop, but this is a very good bucket.

Its times like these that make me proud to be a chiver.

I live in Kenai, Alaska. And fell on to the chive web site about a year ago. From the moment I layed eyes on this site i have been glued to it every day. I am a proud father of 3. And i would not know how to deal with a situation where my family needs emergency help and know body was there to do so. I'm glad to be a chiver and proud to see what we as a whole can do. You all f/n rock. And by the way chive anytime you wanna head this way just drop a line. Lots up here for the whole world to see.
