Let’s have a civil conversation about retiring those trashy belly button rings (20 Photos)

I remember a time when belly button rings were trendy and sexy. Let's call that time Spring Break. But I know so many girls who just never stopped wearing them. And I think it's b/c nobody has stepped to the plate and told them it's time to unhook the (insert fake precious stone name) and toss it in the garbage.

Of course, I could be wrong which is why the following gallery has plenty of smoking hot girls wearing the goddam things. Any argument deserves to have both sides heard after all. So what say you, Chivers and Chivettes? Somehow theCHIVE has become a national stage for bizarre tastemaking. Let the debate begin.

I will stick with tatoos. Not much for the piercings that are not on your ears. But to each there own.

I got mine pierced when I was 16, took it out when I was 17. It got stuck on everything and I realized just how trashy it was. I wish I had never let me friends talk me into it!

Now I'm 20… still have the scar :/ Better a scar than a dangly bit of metal though!

depends on the person – #6 is a woman and she does what she wants. whereas #11 is self-explanatory.

    I hate seeing GD…and I don't personally like them

I've had my ring for about a year now and I love it. But needless to say I don't walk around lifting ny shirt to show it off. I know its there, that's all who needs to know. Yeah people ask during summer. Its summer, bikini season! But I don't stick it in peoples faces going, "look what I have!" 1:its like 20 bucks. 2:anybody could get it so its not special. And. 3:Nobody really gives 2 craps.

Quit trying to run things in this world. The belly ring doesn't make people trashy. The person makes themselves trashy belly ring or not. I've had mine for 12 years. I am 38 years old. I still love it. I still have a flat belly and I still get tons of compliments. Not to mention. I like it. Trend or not. I'm not on this earth to follow others. I live my own life and I do what I want to do. Not what others think I should do. If this is the only thing y'all have to talk about; you need a little more entertainment in your life. :)

This post is pathetic. It's OK to have an opinion and if you don't like a pierced belly button then fine, you're not forced to look at them, but are you seriously going to say it's wrong/gross if the girl doesn't have a perfect stomach? I got mine pierced when I was 14. There was no belly button fad at the time, it was just something I wanted to do. I haven't lost interest in it.. If a guy doesn't like it then that's his problem. I did it for me and I'll keep it for me. Screw 'fads' and whether or not it's considered 'sexy' -.-

why are you complaining about a belly button piercing when there's girls that look like #11? Huge, fake, TACKY breasts and a "Courtney Stodden" arm bracelet. That's the real crime here.

Don't delude yourself. The Chive isn't a national stage for anything other than Ed Hardy douchebags and women with no self esteem begging to be DAR'd for approval.

Naked belly button and back dimples…there is nothing better!

Belly button piercing can be still something REALLY hot on the right body…something that emphasizes the female body perfection.
