#22 They must've been showing "Friday" on that coaster.

    • Lisa

I believe lunch chuckage happened about 3 seconds after that gif ended. Yuckkkkkkk. I love coasters though!

    • mikeofla

looks like the "G's" just blacked her out. I can tell by the lack of color in her face and the blank stare, and I've seen a lot of black outs in my time.

      • DistractedIndividual

I thought she might be having some kind of brain trauma, that makes sense though. Por kid missed the rest of the ride.

    • john v.

Funny – that's the first thing that came to my mind too.

    • john v.

I'm jealous I didn't think of something like that first. It's like a Left 4 Dead campaign poster.

  • cantdoit
  • Crystal

    #22 – Absence seizure?

    • Corpsman Steve

Yea that is what i was thinking. I can't think of any else to explain that kind of affect change, given that setting.

      • DistractedIndividual

As stated above, the Gs made her blackout. It happens actually pretty often at amusement parks.

    • itsnotatumor

or her stomach just turned over that last bump. Haven't you ever seen a kid get sick on a roller coaster before?

  • Catence

#10 – obviously fake ninjas, real ninjas would never be caught on film

    • PointBlank_

        • PointBlank_

thought i might catch hell for that, it was like 5:30 am, cut me some slack and they all can't be gems…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Benton-McGrath/587208531 Benton McGrath

Teachers actually get a pretty sweet gig in California… probably where these protesters are.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Benton-McGrath/587208531 Benton McGrath

Never mind… the big yellow sign that says Michigan wasn't noticed by me. Dumbest post so far..

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Benton-McGrath/587208531 Benton McGrath

Whoops.. didn't see the big yellow sign that says Michigan… dumb post.

      • Corpsman Steve

This is probably in Wisconsin, as the sign says "Michigan supports WI," and that is where all those protests were. They probably drove there to take part.

    • EZEE

It's okay – life time pensions, somewhat good pay, worst ratings of educated kids in the industrialized world (and throw in quite a few 3rd world countries as well) and they work 180 days a year? I would take that paycut…

      • ShakeyTheMoyle

….can't get fired even if you do a shitty job ( no I didn't say all union people do shitty jobs), the tax payers are the ones who pay your benefits (public sector unions). Ever see a union say, "maybe we shouldn't demand all this..the companies cant afford it"?

        • FedUp

It is ignorance like this that is eroding America’s education system. Tenure is the reason why my Wisconsin public college can offer women’s studies and ethnic studies coursed. It is the reason why we can have discussions about rape, genocide, domestic violence, homosexuality, and racism: because we have tenure professors who do not have the administration breathing down their necks telling them that they cannot say those things. Unfortunately all of those professors are leaving Wisconsin for states that actually value education. BTW: the four worse states (as far as student test scores) are also the only 4 states that (prior to Walker’s bill) have no collective bargaining rights for teachers. Wisconsin is #2, and Minnesota is #1. Do some research before you speak.

          • JLC

Wisconsin is Pac-Man and Minnesota is an angry little kid? I never knew…..

          • carlos

collective bargaining is not a 'right', its a legislative action. And it was meant for the private sector where supply and demand of labor exists. Collective bargaining in the public sector comes down to politicians and unions working together to suck the most money out of the taxpayer

            • http://twitter.com/arpra76 @arpra76

and was it the unions that got $700 Billion when the greed of the financial sector firms (all private by the way) took tax payer money?

          • Justin Hall

Normally, I wouldn't be such a douche when responding, but your high-and-mighty , condescending attitude means you deserve an oral bitch-slap.

First, since you basically plagiarised your entire argument from The Economist, you're either deliberately ignoring the fact that said publication actually used collective bargaining statistics from 1999, not 2010. Using more recent statistics paints a more nuanced picture, something obviously ignored by your professors.

Secondly, they fully admitted that the association between that particular contractual clause and students' test scores was tenuous at best. It's similar to the argument that since the crime rate is proportional to increasing ice cream sales, we should therefore outlaw ice cream.

As a final thought: don't give me that martyred bullshit about tenure and academic freedom. Tenure can just as well be abused by professors and teachers that use it as an excuse to no longer give a damn about their students or as a cover to keep younger, more passionate teachers from joining or remaining within the ranks.

I think it's appalling that the teacher unions refuse to contribute more to their health care and pensions. It's morally and fiscally bankrupt. We're not talking about breaking the bank, we're talking about making more contributions to their benefits so that the tax payer doesn't have to — which, I point out, would still be smaller in total than the private sector. Combine those golden benefits with the fact that public sector employees have far greater job security than their private sector counterparts, and I really don't think they have reason to complain.

Shit, wrote way too much there.

            • http://twitter.com/arpra76 @arpra76

makes sense, especially with all of the tax cuts Walker gave to corporations — the week before he came out and said Wisconsin would go bankrupt, unless unions gave in.

            • Ninjack

Yeah, the reason the are pissed though, wasn't because they had to take a pay cut or contribute more to healthcare. The Unions agreed to do both, instead it was because Walker's bill took away their ability to improve their situation in the future and it systematically weakened public sector Unions to the point where they were nearly useless. Take this with common conservative talk about private schools vouchers, homeschooling and abolishing the department of education, kind of seems like there is good reason to worry about teachers.

              • Phil-a-busta

Union!? There's your problem right there.

          • PB1

Collective Bargaining once had a good purpose to help protect employees from employers trying to screw them out of money they deserved (from actual work) and paying fair rates. But now the Unions took too much advantage of this and it does not make sense anymore. You can read story after story of ridiculous reasons why employers can't fire bad employees and keep the good employees. Or that you must have several different departments involved to fix the simplest problems. Just a waste of money. Pendulum is swing back the other way now!

          • Charlie

The facts about the collective bargaining rights and education comparing Wisconsin and Minnesota are wrong, the worst education is actually Mississippi, Minnesota is near the top as is Wisconsin also Minnesota has as of now average collective bargaining rights.

          • Charlie

Minnesota state schools have some of the BEST test scores, do some research, i was going to support your cause until you just decided to ignore research and try and bash Minnesota and Wisconsin who both have great test scores so y ahttp://www.top50states.com/average-iq-score.html

        • TomTheCameraGuy

They can absolutely be fired. Yes, there's more to it than just "You're fired!", but if you're doing a poor job and don't improve, the school can definitely can you

    • erock73

A CEO, a tea party guy, and a union member are looking at a plate of 12 delicious cookies. The CEO takes 11 of them, looks at the tea party guy and says "that union bastard is trying to take YOUR cookie!!"

so crazy, all you anti-blue collar middle americans (who are usually lower class/middle americans themselves) who have been duped by billionaires to support the rich and turn on their brothers. fricken retards.

      • PB1

Great story. Too bad that has nothing to do with this topic at all. Nice smoke and mirrors though.

    • Guest

That you can't determine what state this is in tells volumes about why we need a better educational system in this country

  • Billy

I kinda feel bad about #22, looks like her brain just stopped working.

    • NothingToSeeHere

Yeah – I'm sorry to say my daughter had the same experience on her first "big" roller coaster. Going up the hill she was all happy. As soon as we crested the top she just flat shut down – in horror. I felt terrible about it.

      • VEGETA!

She probably just started to black out, some people can only take a few Gs before blacking out

    • Bryan

That they actually have to pay for their retirement? Yeah, too bad.

    • smyd

poor public sector employees who make an average double what the private sector makes when you include their lucrative benefits. Collective bargaining in the public sector is a scam where politicians and unions work together to get as much taxpayer money as possible. Thanks for politicians like walker that are actually representing the taxpayer. And those workers dont represent the middle class or the "american worker", unions make up only 12% of total worforce

      • http://twitter.com/arpra76 @arpra76

        see my comment above.

I find it funny that Walker is coming down hard on public school teachers — what does he care? his kids go to private school.

Rich just want to keep getting richer at the expense of the honest tax payer.

        • PB1

Honest tax payers? The schools cannot even fire the crappy teachers and in some case, have had to let go of good ones (like the teacher up there that recieved teacher of the year award, then was let go because they couldnt meet budget and couldnt fire another teacher who has had terrible scores because she had been there longer). I dont find that funny, do you:?

          • http://twitter.com/arpra76 @arpra76

How about we start, by making Bank of America pay more than the $0 in corporate taxes they owe from last year?
