See, at the last place I worked, there were 5 women in the department planning their wedding at the same time. Since we all had work stations and were in reasonable proximity, it would get annoying when they would talk about it every single day for hours on end. . . so, I decided to shut them up by planning my fake wedding. It was pirate-themed, and I just kept adding more and more aspects to it (sword fighting her dad, swinging in on a chandelier, etc.), until finally, they just stopped talking about it around all of us that weren't getting invited anyway.

My personal feeling is that it should be fun for the bride and groom. If everyone else doesn't like it, screw them. Instead, people overly stress themselves out over things like flowers. . .

I've actually met the Superman in #20. He is a regular on Hollywood Blvd in from of Mann's Chinese Theater. Gets paid to have his picture taken with people.

And to answer the question posed by the title of this entry, yes, many of these people actually DO dream of their weddings being this way.
