I live in Wichita and ride my bike on a bike path that goes right by this place. It's sooo much more eerie in person. It's almost always windy here and you can hear all kinds of moans, squeaks and squeals from metal parts being blown around in an otherwise silent environment. I think these photos must be at least a few years old because the place is way more dilapidated, vandalized and overgrown now.

23 The Wacky Shack is a dark ride, there is an identical one at Waldamere in Erie, PA. It was one of my favorite rides growing up, I never knew it had a twin.

Joyland had a creepy ass organ playing clown but unfortunatly it was stolen a few years back. Crazy to see Wichita make the Chive.

that was the rumor back in the early 90's and it was a rumor in the 80's there has been nothing that I have found to prove that rumor true. I was born and raised in Wichita, KS and grew up going to the park in the late 80's and early 90's.

#24…What the fuck?!?! That is scary as shit.

As for everyone else, I don't know about you, but the only two thoughts in my head while looking at these photos is off key carnival music, and the old 1983 movie "Something Wicked this Way Comes".

#9 Looks like it says "Closed for Health Reasons." Do zombies count as "health reasons?"

    • TitoRigatoni

I thought it was "closed for the season".
A season that apparently never ended.
