Reminds me of a '60s protest song, "Tar and Cement", lamenting the paving over of the writer's neighborhood and childhood memories. And, Janis Joplin's song phrase, "…they paved paradise and put up a parking lot…". Sad indeed. And it's called "progress". To some. Some is, of course, needed. Some, not so much.
