  10. Guest says:

Medieval nazi's? Only one of these is an actual nazi bunker…

    • TheDarkKnight says:

… and you know this because you are a Nazi and were there?

      • GK-4 says:

#4 is a pillbox, the only modern em-battlement in the album
#7 and then this here cannon just throws you for a loop

        • TheDarkKnight says:

So, again, I ask… you are saying that it is impossible for Nazis to have used the "non pillbox" structures as bunkers?

The title does say "nazi-occupied" not "nazi-constructed"…

    • Alex says:

dude most of these are in the Guernsey where the Nazis used existing structures like castles along with numerous other buildings to fortify the island. I know for a fact that the tower in #3 is a Nazi gun emplacement, I lived there for 5 years and there are loads of Nazi bunkers around the Island.

  11. TheLostOne says:

I wonder how he takes these pictures, especially that ball of light, unless these are photo-shopped.

  12. reme says:

"Gosh- how wonderful that the artist could take such a symbol of hate and turn it into something beautiful…"

I suppose you COULD get more cliché and pretentious, but not by much.

    • Blake says:

I like to think of it as more like, "Hey, look at me! I can dance all over your face!!"

      • Blake says:

Oh and check out "Sexy Girls Nipping" gallery from Tuesdays' burn your bra to see what I'd like to have dancing on my face, pretty much number 1-29 and I'm good

And what have YOU contributed to the world today?Besides sarcasm and negativity.I am not only looking at *you* but all the other people who commented in a similar fashion,as well.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we are all free to express it.What I don't get is,the thread starts out with a photo preview and a title. If you're on The Chive for tits, ass, humor, etc etc that is your business–rock on.Some of us here want a little something more or different. Why pollute a thread with negativity when you could just as easily view the thread and if you get nothing out of it–click on something else,or–seeing the preview and title–decide it's not for you and that your time would be spent better elsewhere, and move on.
I suppose I am contributing to the problem by even asking this question,or drawing attention to it–but I'm also willing to bet that I'm not the only person who feels this way.And if I AM–then this is a sad day, indeed.

      • reme says:

In your self-righteousness, you missed the point. If artwork needs to call attention to itself through shock or negativity value, exactly how good [important] IS the work? The title "light-paintings-of-former-nazi-occupied-bunkers" elicits a negative response in people in order to draw them in. If titling the work "Light Painting" or other true-descriptive title isn't enough to draw a viewer's attention, then maybe the work isn't interesting enough to even make.
Perhaps this isn't the artist's own title, but if he's using nazi-related images, he may as well. Maybe some on here ARE here for the T&A only, but I for one would have viewed the pictures with a title such as "Creative Art with Light". Not exactly an emotion-stirring title, but I'd rather let the art do it's own talking.

        • amrith777 says:

I believe you had an air of self-righteousness in your original statement,as well. So–let's both admit to that, and move on to the point I THINK we are both trying to make.I don't know you or anything about you.I am an artistic and creative person–many of my friends and family are,as well.Perhaps you are, too.I agree with the point you are trying to make about sensationalizing something.I,too, would have viewed this artwork without the sensationalized title.I agree with letting the art do it's own talking. But,it makes me wonder what it says about the world in general when an artist (or their promoter) has to even hedge their bets and use such a title to get people to view their creation–is it an indictment on the artists insecurity or upon his/her lack of faith in humanity?Either way,it's a sad commentary.
I did not miss your point–I just wondered why you tried to articulate your point in such a harsh manner.I actually applaud the fact that you took the time to reply and further your point. The irony is that it seems as if we are both in agreement with each other.Chive On and have a great week!!Thank you for exercising my brain today B)

          • dub says:

            Most people are curious, no?

Had the title not included a pretty decent location/description, then those questions would have filled the comments section.

Please keep in mind, Gentlemen, this isn't a museum. It's TheChive.

So fuck both of you. C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

very cool, anyone know how that ribbon effect is done?

    • amrith777 says:

First off–LOVE your screen name!! FTW!!
I am not sure how they do this but I have read about various techniques in general and I believe it has alot to do with either photostrobe lighting and/or VERY long exposure time. This is evident in certain pictures where you can see the effect on the stars in the sky and how there are trails.

You are a planker, aren't you?

Here we go again…. *facedesk* xD

          • VedHead77 says:

I believe my comment to B.O.L.'s comment on my comment is what we call a "re-troll". It was also an attempt to restate what he had stated concerning my statement using statements that contain numerous repetitions of original statements in them.
*Carries out facedesk on own desk*
