#12 is actually 3D art by Ryan Bliss. He runs DigitalBlasphemy.com and does it for a living. There's always a watermark in the lower right corner of the images he does although it appears to be cropped out in this one. It would be interesting to see how copyrighted work wound up on here.
#1 is Kyoto, Japan. I can even tell you exactly where in the city it is, because I took a photo from the exact same bridge! It was so funny to find it here :p
