#2 a coffee mug is like a cast-iron pan, it has to be seasoned before it tastes best. Note that it only works when you drink black coffee, otherwise the milk and sugar leftover at the bottom go skunky. I haven't washed my coffee cup since I first bought it over 2 years ago.
