Chive On from Canada
Dirty Dingus
It's actually Banff National Park, in the province of Alberta. Specifically, that is Moraine Lake and the Valley of the 10 Peaks.

Very specific indeed

Looks like a geyser in an area where the water has a heavy mineral content, thus creating the mini volcano structure.
After a bit more googling, found it. Fly Geyser, look it up. That's a great pic of it
xXbeermonkeyXx
thanks, you are awesome! got it, Fly Ranch Geyser, Nevada, USA
cheers, beers

#2 Has to be a composite…horizon's don't match up, looks weirdly surreal…

Check out National Geographic: I've seen this photo before and even used it as a desktop. I think it's some National Park in Namibia. What you see is a giant sand dune encroaching on trees in a savannah-like area.
_Moose_
Sossusvlei, Namibia. It's pretty incredible.
Tim
Hmm, I agree with wade. While there are giant sand dunes that are extraordinary, this one is shown with another image in the foreground. Look at the glaring difference in lighting between the background and the foreground. Also the fog shows distant trees between the viewer and the dune, suggesting that the bushes on the side of the dune are the size of a bungalow.
Jen

#1 Schloss Neuschwanstein , should be on every bucket list, personally been there and mind blowing it is.
Lach
Went when i was little, finally goin back next week. Shall submit a gallery?
Wally
Sure: are photos inside allowed? That would be awesome!
LineHog
No photos inside, but I bought a CD at the castle gift shop of interior and exterior pictures that are great.
Joe
I went a few years ago, amazing castle. It's too bad it was never finished though.
DutchChiveFan
Isn't that the castle of ludwig the mad from bavaria?
LineHog
Yep, there is a model inside of the next castle he was planning to build that dwarfs this one.
Negrodamas
Indeed. I visited during the fall. Absolutely gorgeous with the leaves turning. I'd like to see it during the winter, though.

#17 Venice, Italy. I was there a month ago. Really nice place.
Randy
looks like CGI

That pic was actually created by MS Paint. Hard to believe, but there were a couple like this created in MS Paint a few years ago.
KUI
Often stinks like a sewer, and it's not much of a city. The old part, anyway, nobody lives there. You don't see people going to work, children playing, dogs, nothing. It's a big-ass tourist park. It's beautiful, but has absolutely no personality.
Firenze kicks its ass.
gromtown
fake as fuck

Isn't it the "Venice" in Las Vegas?

#9, Farrand Field at the University of Colorado….brings back a lot of memories. Remember kids stay in college as long as you can, it truly is a vacation from real life.
Ken Saldi
Grew up outside of Boulder and went to the University of Colorado, nut I truly love those Flatirons in the background.
tay diggz
Not Ferrand Field its actually outside of the Law building and new communications Building bus still gorgeous, so happy to be living there.

#2 Good lord, that is a LOT of fucking sand!
http://sno0bs.wordpress.com snoobs89
very acute observation there.
NebraskaGuy
Thank ya, snoobs89! Very acute observation of my acute observation!
It's one thing to see aerial pictures of sand dunes, but when you see one like this, with foreground objects that give you a better impression of the sheer scale and size of these dunes, it changes your whole perspective. Damned thing's HUGE! (that's what SHE said!) hehe

#12 is a hot spring/geyser in about 150 miles north of Reno, Nevada. Sometime back in the 1950s a rancher was putting in a fence when he struck a hot spring. It's been bubbling ever since and piling up mineral deposits.
thisgoesonandon
hmmm…putting in a fence and struck a hotspring? Im more inclined to believe Wikipedia…lol.
" The Geyser is not an entirely natural phenomenon, and was accidentally created in 1916 during the drilling of a well. The well functioned normally for several decades, but then in the 1960s geothermally heated water found a weak spot in the wall and began escaping to the surface. Dissolved minerals started rising and piling up, creating the mount on which the geyser sits, which is still growing to date. "
Science. Did someone say Science???

The rocks and trees remind me of western Australia, but that's a wild guess.
Aidman
It's at Uluru, aka 'Ayers rock' in the Northern Territory of Australia.
