Paula, do you ever leave your house or your computer? Mommy's basement must be very comfortable.
Just spent the last few hours on a boat.
- the one who loves the motorboat
Oh this could be bad….why the poor score? I'm new to the Chive but….yeah.
You'll find out soon enough dear

#10 #13 just all awesomely amazingly pics
it's too sad to think that a lot of these beautiful landscapes are threatened by man's stupidity !
we should all act to save our planet earth !
Chive On !
10 is closer than you think Alberta National Parks
Chive On from Canada
It's actually Banff National Park, in the province of Alberta. Specifically, that is Moraine Lake and the Valley of the 10 Peaks.
Very specific indeed
3-4 couloir is that strip of snow that looks like it would be fun to ski, which it is.
been there, it's awesome
#12 what is that? never seem anything that weird and awesome before
Liar! We've met!
- the one you loved to date
sorry paula_ the awesome part faded away already, now you are just weird and annoying, just like all my other ex-girlfriends :p
Just weird and… oh hell. I've got connections you know; I'll spread the word. You'll never date another troll again! NEVER!

Looks like a geyser in an area where the water has a heavy mineral content, thus creating the mini volcano structure.
After a bit more googling, found it. Fly Geyser, look it up. That's a great pic of it
thanks, you are awesome! got it, Fly Ranch Geyser, Nevada, USA
Perfect for that first dose of surreality on the way to Burning Man
#12 i agree on the wtfness of this
#2 Has to be a composite…horizon's don't match up, looks weirdly surreal…
Check out National Geographic: I've seen this photo before and even used it as a desktop. I think it's some National Park in Namibia. What you see is a giant sand dune encroaching on trees in a savannah-like area.
Sossusvlei, Namibia. It's pretty incredible.
Hmm, I agree with wade. While there are giant sand dunes that are extraordinary, this one is shown with another image in the foreground. Look at the glaring difference in lighting between the background and the foreground. Also the fog shows distant trees between the viewer and the dune, suggesting that the bushes on the side of the dune are the size of a bungalow.
shut up, nerds.
#4 nai mwre zakynthos
where is the magical place on the earth?
nai mwre ellada
etsi re Ellada! Ekei 8a eimai fetos!
Ah, my new screensaver set of the week. Thanks for allowing me to make a slideshow desktop, Windows!
Where are the women who burn their bra…or is today Tuesday?
Fuck it, you give me a post of another FLBP today and we'll call it even.
The Chive – THE place for overly sensitive little girly men.
#1 #6 Awesome.
#1 Schloss Neuschwanstein , should be on every bucket list, personally been there and mind blowing it is.
Went when i was little, finally goin back next week. Shall submit a gallery?
Sure: are photos inside allowed? That would be awesome!
No photos inside, but I bought a CD at the castle gift shop of interior and exterior pictures that are great.
I went a few years ago, amazing castle. It's too bad it was never finished though.
Isn't that the castle of ludwig the mad from bavaria?
Yep, there is a model inside of the next castle he was planning to build that dwarfs this one.
Indeed. I visited during the fall. Absolutely gorgeous with the leaves turning. I'd like to see it during the winter, though.
#17 Venice, Italy. I was there a month ago. Really nice place.
looks like CGI
That pic was actually created by MS Paint. Hard to believe, but there were a couple like this created in MS Paint a few years ago.
Often stinks like a sewer, and it's not much of a city. The old part, anyway, nobody lives there. You don't see people going to work, children playing, dogs, nothing. It's a big-ass tourist park. It's beautiful, but has absolutely no personality.
Firenze kicks its ass.
fake as fuck
Isn't it the "Venice" in Las Vegas?
#9, Farrand Field at the University of Colorado….brings back a lot of memories. Remember kids stay in college as long as you can, it truly is a vacation from real life.
Grew up outside of Boulder and went to the University of Colorado, nut I truly love those Flatirons in the background.
Not Ferrand Field its actually outside of the Law building and new communications Building bus still gorgeous, so happy to be living there.
Woops meant the Leeds building not Law XD
GET THE FUCK UP BUFFS!!!!!!
As a CU Boulder Alumni, and current employee of CU it's nice to see the Campus on Gettin' Away. BTW this is the Business Building (right) and the Center for Community building (center) Go Buffs! and Chive On!
This heat wave is such a killer! Wish I was here #4

Greece, Anthony Bourdain went there on an episode. Not sure where it is exactly.
Navagio beach, greece
I'M IN! Now, just need some more PTO, about a retirements worth
navagio beach, zakynthos in greece, only approachable by boat
woot CU Boulder #9
WTF IS WOOT?!
Nothing interesting to look at here… carry on
sure would be nice to have captions to know where these places are !!!!
I agree totally!@
#2 Good lord, that is a LOT of fucking sand!
very acute observation there.
Thank ya, snoobs89! Very acute observation of my acute observation!
It's one thing to see aerial pictures of sand dunes, but when you see one like this, with foreground objects that give you a better impression of the sheer scale and size of these dunes, it changes your whole perspective. Damned thing's HUGE! (that's what SHE said!) hehe
#12 is a hot spring/geyser in about 150 miles north of Reno, Nevada. Sometime back in the 1950s a rancher was putting in a fence when he struck a hot spring. It's been bubbling ever since and piling up mineral deposits.
hmmm…putting in a fence and struck a hotspring? Im more inclined to believe Wikipedia…lol.
" The Geyser is not an entirely natural phenomenon, and was accidentally created in 1916 during the drilling of a well. The well functioned normally for several decades, but then in the 1960s geothermally heated water found a weak spot in the wall and began escaping to the surface. Dissolved minerals started rising and piling up, creating the mount on which the geyser sits, which is still growing to date. "
Science. Did someone say Science???
#4 Doesn't get more remote than that.. Looks awesome
there are some truly awesome places in this world. hope humans dont fuck it up to much
Great post, Chive. Thanks for reminding us of the beautiful places on the planet!

you meatball, this is trout lake
#4 That looks like heaven
Where is #16 plz? I want to go to there.
The rocks and trees remind me of western Australia, but that's a wild guess.
It's at Uluru, aka 'Ayers rock' in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Anyone else notice that no 17 is a painting???
No it's not, it's CGI
