Mind blowing CGI by Alex Roman

None of what you are about to see actually exists, it is all computer generated.

This is a project that artist Alex Roman worked on for over a year in his spare time, meticulously wire-framing, texturing, lighting and coloring each layer in various 3D programs to create this masterpiece.
Making of here, and check out Alex Roman’s website here.

    Absolutely beautiful!
So much potential for this type of work!

  • Guiler

This guy has a lot of spare time !

  • Shant1k

Needs guns, rockets, vehicles and a few players.

But seriously this was just "wow"

  • Jay

    Needs more explosions

  • W in Milwaukee

The building that appears around the 7:55 mark is the art museum in Milwaukee. Not sure what's so awe inspiring about filming this from a number of angles….

  • delliup

Pretty cool yet really creepy. Felt like I was entering the matrix

  • Hooter Brown

The statue at :43 is from the Barcelona Pavilion in Spain.

There is no way this dude did this on his own. I'm a CGI Artist and unless he has a couple of hundred thousand k laying around to pay for a render time, then he didn't do this in his bedroom!

    • modernslinke

*farm not time lol Render FARM!

      • _J_

It said done in his spare time over the course of a year. Yes, it'd be a ton of work and render time but you don't have to have a farm for everything.

  • -KhmerStory-

Even though it looks so realistic, something about it makes it look amazing.

  • famou55TAR

Holy hell, looks amazing. mind blown

  • Yeabigboi

Why would you waste your time on all that boring shit. he should use his skills to make a sweet ass laser fight in space or something. not just a bookshelf or a camera

  • KeyserSoze

    Meth. Not even once…

  • Brian

Yea, spare time. In my spare time, I Chive. This guy's makes a master piece.

Everything but the clouds are CGI

  • Nighteye

Still easy to tell it's not real, but it comes very close. At times it did look like a real maquette, even.

Pretty soon we won't need people to act in movies. But without the Angelina Joile's and Christian Bale's who would we fantasize about when we're having mediocre sex with our significant others?

  • Hich

8:23 – the Calatrava in Milwaukee?

  • Guibombe

This was astonishing! Il a un talent fou l'animal!

Yawn. Thanks for that — i needed the nap.

  • gyro

I'm not usually into Hollywood remakes but If Hollywood did a remake of Fritz Lang's Metropolis using CG of this quality, I'd go out and watch it.

  • LoveGifs

This is future of movies, video games, etc…pretty awesome shit if you tell me.

  • Heather

It was good. My only criticism is with the library and the concert hall. They should have come across as vast spaces, but they seemed like miniatures being filmed rather than CGI. The rest was beautiful.

  • monsturd

when is someone going to CGI a poop?

  • worldwarZisaprophecy

    bullshit that is all CGI!
