Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start…….that is all

    • Rob
    • sully23

That's only for 1 player 99 lives. You know you need the select start in there for two

      • dOOb

yup… it's Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A, Select, Select, Start…. for two players.

That's assuming the doobs haven't destroyed my long term memory…

    • chi-native

      pretty sure it was…

up up down down left right left right A B B A select start….

      • Travis

        WRONG!!!

      • Rocks Off

        it's B A B A select start

    • Tony

Ya quick way to see how many friends you had as a kid is to ask what this code was.

    • ShreddyTeddy

Dont forget "Select" for two players.

  • Bill57

some of these are bizarre memories

  • darren

#14 i still play this game

    • PubicJones

I still play this on 2 player, by myself.

#32 The stories in these scary story books were hardly frightening. The illustrations, however, were terrifying…

    • NateyTheGreaty

The stories were scarier than In A Dark, Dark Room, and definitely scared me as a kid. I guess I'm a weenie 😦

      • Seth

What was the name of these stories again?

        • http://www.last.fm/user/mutiilator Brand_n

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. And I agree about the illustrations – way scarier than the stories.

          • Adam

            Wow I remember these books.

      • Larry

I always remembered "Harold" being a creepy as fuck story. But I'd have to agree that the illustrations were the creepiest shit ever.

        • larrpr

was that the fucking one with that asshole who got a pet dog from mexico or something that turned out to be a huge rat?

          • dfgdfs

pretty sure "harold" was the one about the scarecrow that comes to life, that one stands out in my mind as well

        • Megan

"Harold" still creeps me the fuck out.

        • KimiD

YES!!!! I STILL think of that one when passing a field.

    • Linds

I actually just bought the whole set of these last year, just for the scary-as-fuck drawings.

    • Jeff

      O man, i remember these.
      these were not fun…

    • graham

      this gave me the chills

    • ayjay

or the one where the spider lays its eggs in the girls ear…..

  • sparky

#16 One of my favorite episodes, Mitchell. Loved that show.

    • Adam

      whats the NAME???!??

      • Adam

        i meant TITLE 😀

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000681927439 Kyle Shubert

Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Old but funny ass stuff!

      • sparky

MST3K but the episode was Mitchell

    • http://thechive.com/ Turduckenn

      MST3K Fuck yea!!!!!!!!

    • SheriffPablo

Joel's last episode / mike's first. possibly the best episode ever?

      • Rand

Joe Don Baker. he was the man.

    • Fasteddy14

They just released all the Gamera episodes in a DVD box-set after years of speculation that they would never again get the licensing… Those were probably the funniest episodes.

    • yoselahonda

      "whaca-chica whaca-chica whaca-chica"
"It was the third of September"
      "whaca-chica whaca-chica whaca-chica"
      "A day I'll always remember"

      "MITCHELL!!"

      • Captlazarus

        Mitchell, license to slouch

  • NateyTheGreaty

    #22

Beakman's World is on Netflix ;). I'm 24 and can honestly admit that after all this time, I still love it just as much.

    • Travis

People always fight me over who was better, Bill Nye or Beakman. When I was younger, I was a Beakman snob, but they both hold up tremendously today.

    • equalizermax

      Yabading Yabada Yabado!…

    • Peeps

Thanks for letting me know its on Netflix! I loved this show! The giant rat guy! Awesome!

    • herb

I love how the actor used his last name as an exclamation. "And then the magma comes up through the surface and -Zaloom!- it becomes a volcano."

  • teh_shard

    #32

Some of the scariest shit I ever read. That stuff gave me nightmares.

    • BaconBoy

I don't seem to remember these. What was the name of the series?

      • SheriffPablo

scary stories to tell in the dark. Basic campfire horror stories, with the most demented illustrations.

        • BaconBoy

Ah! That does sound familiar. The old memory isn't what it used to be. Thanks.

  • StupidFresh84

#16 – MST3K needs to come back and do some of the shitty movies that are around today….cough cough Twilight cough cough

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=660683938 Erik Regalado

      We can dream.

    • Beckatal

rifftrax dot com. Same guys, and they riff all of the twilight flicks, absolutely HILARIOUS

      • sparky

Yes the sparkle comments are awesome.

      • Jade

I agree, and their Twilight riff was brilliant!

    • http://www.facebook.com/adamharahuc Adam Harahuc

Yeah check out Rifftrax!! as long as you own the DVD you download their track where they riff on the movie and sync up with the film. pretty funny stuff

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000525331468 Raul Robles

its called Rifftrax, the same guys do that show and do more of today's bad movies

    • yoselahonda

  • RGH

    What is #27?

    • Nonanah

      Banjo Kazooie I think.

      • Illumirage

Jinjo! Those games were great, it's a shame they aren't still made…

        • Blindsided5

You can get the remakes on Xbox Arcade and I'm almost sure they made a new game available on the xbox too.

    • Matt

      Banjo Kazooie.

If there were 6 words to sum up my child hood they were: Banjo Kazooie And Legend Of Zelda.

But seriously, if you have an N64 find this game. It gave me goosebumps looking at this picture and my N64 is literally 5 feet away from me and I have the game.
      So overall… GET THIS GAME.

      -Chive On-

      • RGH

Thanks, I vaguely recall that game. Damn memory isn't what it used to be – too many video games in my childhood I suppose.

    • Spocker

BANJO KAZOOIE!! – Awesome game. Treasure Cove, I believe. I need to rummage the basement and get the old N64 out again. Don't forget the great sequel, Banjo Tooie!

      • Yvan

i knew it!! i knew if seen this before i loved that game!!

    • DavyJones

Treasure Trove Cove! awesome level…good timing for Shark Week too cause if you fell in that water a huge great white would chomp you up

  • alexri

#22 One of the greatest Tv shows ever

    • qpgmr

TIL This guy is actually a real scientist, while Bill Nye is a comedian and actor.

      • dfgdfs

        i love them both

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=660683938 Erik Regalado

Pick ‘em up! Move ‘em down! Pick ‘em on up! Move ‘em on down! Ain’t no time to celebrate! You are old and overweight! Gotta lose a million pounds! Get your fat butt off the ground! Reach on down and touch your toes! How long since you looked at those? Shape up! Lose weight! Get thin! Gotta win! Jumping jacks are good for you! Now your face is turning blue! Swing your arms around your back! Give yourself a heart attack! Gotta train! In the rain! In the sun! In the snow! Ten below! Gotta move! Gotta do! Gotta crow!

  • Dantheloser

    #35 FUCK YEAH!

    • http://thechive.com/ Paula_

Yeah, why watch the Full HD repolished version when you can watch it in crappy VHS quality on your 50" flatscreen?

      Hugs,
      Paula
      – the one you love to hate

      • mystery_guest

I pity the fool who prefers the "special editions".

        • http://thechive.com/ Paula_

Who said anything about special editions? I hate stupid alterations like inserting Jabba in a scene with Han Solo and Han 'stepping' over Jabba's tail… Huge mistake…

          Hugs,
          Paula
          – the one you love to hate

      • Dantheloser

You go ahead, Paula, and watch the polished prequels and SE's and call yourself a Star Wars fan, I dare you!
        To quote a great man:
"You are so blind! You so do not understand! You weren't there at the beginning. You don't know how good it was! How important!"

        • crowebar360

actually they've released the original three completely unaltered for DVD, so I'll probably pass on having to adjust the tracking on some shitty VHS.

      • therenegaderacer

Because the "Full HD repolished version" isn't the original, has added/extended scenes, and this post is about nostalgia and not the raping of my childhood… bitch.

    • Dude

I actually taped over 15min of the
      episode one…

      • Sean

        Episode IV*

    • Greenerblues

      Han shot first!

    • bdizzle

The new dvd versions are trash. Give me the old grainy dark film look. Looks 10x more real than the DVD remaster, repolished, re animated crap.

    • Sean

The only reason to own one

  • Phil

#20 hmmm I'll have the pink power ranger

    • robsterling

She was too whiny. All she ever said was, "You guuuuuys."

    • http://thechive.com/ GernBlansten

what was the girls name in the far bottom left? the brunette?

      • http://twitter.com/Poopy_McPoop @Poopy_McPoop

I think it's one of the older sisters from that Patrick Duffy/Suzanne Summers show, "Step By Step." Dunno her name though. Think the girl above Jessica Biel is from the same show.

    • HolePwner

      Why no Nicole Eggert?

    • Christopher

Secret World of Alex Mac, man did I have a crush on her.

#30 I feel this movie is one of Spielberg most under appreciated films…I could never get tired of watching that movie!

    • Ben

      RUFIO, RUFIO, RUFI OOOOOOOOOO HEY.

    • P90

I didn't realise until recently that the old man they put in the 'Boo Box' was actually Glen Close.

      • inspectmyclouseau

        Mind blown…

    • DrGarnicus

It was supposed to be a musical but it never materialized. Some of the set pieces were designed for certain numbers and Williams and Spielberg had a book arranged, but they couldn't quite make it fit. If you like Spielberg, check out his early works: The Sugarland Express (solid film) and Duel (beautiful).

  • Sassy

if only i knew to take pictures of all my cool crap as a kid.. and #26 i love when i find a place that still sells quarter drinks.. esp if its blue flavor

    • SkyVader

H.I.: Do you ever get the feeling that there's something… Powerful pressing down on you?
Glen: Yes, I know that feeling. I told Dot to lose some weight but she don't wanna listen.
