- Alright, back to the dog of the day–Murray. About a week ago I got an email from one of our long time Chivers named Mag who told me she had a Chive worthy dog everyone should know about. Now I hear this often, and normally it means somebody dressed their dog up in a tutu and strapped a ribbon to its head. Lets say, I had my reservations. However, as I read on I learned that Murray had quite the backstory. I’ll let Mag take it away….

- “When he was just a pup he was brought into the veterinary clinic I work at, his head had been chomped by a much bigger dog than him. The damage was so severe that half his skull seemed to have caved in and was bleeding pretty badly. But he was a strong boy and he didn’t give in. The Vet was able to save his life. But his luck didn’t immediately turn around. After a couple of weeks at the clinic it was apparent that the people who had brought him in were not coming back to get him. So my family and I invited him into our lives and he has been a fantastic addition to our family…

- As Murray got older (he is around 6 months in this picture) the effects of his injuries became more apparent. He was beginning to develop an under-bite and a crooked nose. Also, due to his injuries he can no longer smell or taste. His favorite thing to do is graze our lawn eating leaves and sticks and just about anything. His nickname is actually Murray MountainGoat because he literally eats everything. He does have a tendency to run his head into things. If we are eating dinner at the table he is under it begging for food and hitting his head quite often, this leads us to believe he might have lost a lot of sensation in his head…

- He loves people, whenever I take him for walks around my University he is always looking at everyone and craving their attention. He loves his picture taken, as you can see, he is a very photogenic pup. And although he didn’t get the best start to life he is still one of the happiest dogs on the planet….

- And of course Murray loves theCHIVE, as do I. So I hope you enjoy the character that is my dog, Murray. Chive on.” -Mag

Same thing happened to my dog once and it annoyed her (maybe hurt her) a lot …

I'd like to think I speak for all Chivers when I saw that Murray is awesome and so are you Mag. Doesn't hurt that I was listening to Second Chance by Shinedown when I was reading yours and Murrays story! Chive on M & M!

What was presented bguorht up some interesting if not quite basic solutions to the issue of ranking in a search engine. When I worked on the companye2€™s website I came across a huge problem. The name of the company is knowledge Solutions.270,000,000 results come back in google! It is a CMS Database driven site that I developed. Even though there were so many results coming back under google I still managed to get it ranked number 1 after a month of having the site up and running and with no PPC, just keywords and good design tailored to search engine ranking; it has never in its history gone lower than number 1.The video of the presentation showed many things that I did, and that I thought to be obvious, and I am surprised many people did not take them up. Still some points were new and a very worth while listen.I just wish I was based in the US, I could attend next years conference!Quinton.
