Totally awesome until the tide comes in or the wind hits!

    • Yes, but...

Most of these hard-core sculptures are nowhere near the water or they are and aren't "on the beach" in jeopardy of getting washed away. Also, if you get the chance to see some in person go look at them, it's going to have to be a pretty stiff wind to knock these bad boys over.

All that, yes, they ARE damn awesome!

aren't you the one who complains about re-posts? and here you are re-using an old joke….

  • EasternCanuck

I don't know what kind of sand they are using, but the sand around here doesn't hold like that. Must be a mixture added in to make it sticky.

    • Phil McKracken

Semen. Lots and lots of semen. That's what makes good sculpting sand.

    • IndyGirl

Nothing added in to make it "sticky"
I've watched a competition before, and the only thing added was water

      • AnyoneForCoffee

Of course, there's a cement involved.

A sculpture made from just sand and water will not be able to survive perfectly intact even for a few days, let alone the week and more these are on display.

        • DoucheMcFuckstain

you obviously don't watch Sand Masters…. Only water, then you stack them up in wooden forms, stomp them down and wait a day until it is hardened.

**pushes up glasses, fixes pocket protector**

        • Haterade

Hmmm, I wonder what most cements are made out of….. Oh right, sand and water.
