It's a reproduction of painting of Napoléon by Jacques Louis David.
Does anyone have a clue how it has been chosen to be reproducted in a japanese rice field?

I think whoever was using photoshop made that decision. about 4 of those are in the exact same location with the same words written at the bottom but different pictures. looks kinda sketch to me… i dunno.

OK, I can acknowledge the artistic talent required to make these gargantuan images… but where in the hell are you supposed to be able to see the whole thing? Are all these rice fields located near a tower or mountain? Where are all the perspective shots from? Wait, I have it… the Japanese have learned to FLY!

They built a viewing tower specifically to look at the art. I was there in July, it's pretty amazing. The field from the 1st picture and others with writing on the bottom. It's called Tanbo Art in the city of Inakadate. Although there isn't a picture of this years art in this post.
