I LOVED Death Note.

it's a psychological thriller/mystery… you get an emo vibe from the art, esp. the fan art.. which I think throws people off. but to me, it mixed elements of the Hannibal series, Fight Club, Noir, the occult, and so much more.

Watching death note, and actually following it – made me work my mind. I've read a lot too.. and the thing about being well read is that you can figure a lot of plots out before they unravel… I tried doing this with Death Note and actually found myself doing a few double takes. When that happens, I truly enjoy it and Death Note definitely accomplished that.

Naruto most popular with americans, but I agree that it isn't the best. One Piece starts slow, but i believe it's the best by far right now. Always stick to manga, it comes at the same speed as the animes but there are no fillers. There are other good mangas as well, but some you have to grit through the slow/bad beginning. I did alot of that in my boring senior year, and now i just spend an hour a day keeping up and I'm all good
