#9. Not *totally* pointless, just a bit more pointless than it was a decade or so ago. If you work in a print shop that also makes all those posters you see around schools, it’s an *essential* skill. It’s relatvely recent thing that posters done *entirely* by computer have become cheap enough to use on a regular basis. And some places still prefer to get posters done the “old fashioned” way. To do that, someone has to actually manually set the type fairly rapidly, by hand…which meant being able to *think* words backwards well enough to avoid errors. It was my very first job.I canstill be useful, occasionally.
