i hate the cookie cutter homes that all look the same, so i love these. if i could afford something this unique, i would go for it.

#2 #12 are more likely LEED style houses, not 'douchbag' houses. They are designed the way they are for energy and material efficiency. Not sure about the others, once you add a pool, you are killing your efficiency really quickly.
#6 looks like it could be from the solar decathlon.

Love these, if I ever make enough money to afford something like this, I would buyone right away. Simple, elegant and trendy.
