To avoid nasty problems with your boss and your IT dept, your best bet is probably a phone plus chive app or a tablet with 3g or 4g access. And your IT guys are only following orders, forgive them. Of course we in IT *need* full access to everything for "testing" purposes (so far as the CIO knows).

Bonus hint – your IT guys are likley not trying to block anonymous proxies. Lear about the proxy, luke!
