I think I'm missing something, aren't stores open daily, during normal hours?

As much as I enjoy the holidays I feel like Christmas has put a burden on society, to the point where people feel like they need to go to great lengths to please one another. When all it takes is some good drinks and good company to make the holidays memorable.
