I feel sorry for people like the ones in these photos. I think i have bad being a sewer worker covered in s&*% all day. These people wish they had my problems. Makes me realize most people with “problems” are just cry babies like me.

Born in l.a. and will probably die here.I love my city and the people in it. South central doesn’t have the nicest views but its home and I wouldn’t change that for anything. *throwing up the W*.

It’s as if someone built the Crystal Palace, then shattered all the glass. A shell of something beautiful is there but the beauty is no more. That sucks…

I didn’t see anything bad! I bet you the person who posted this is a lame ass transplant who was ”let down” by their ideas of what LA was gonna be like. Don’t believe everything you see on TV loser!

Yep that's the dump I remember leaving 22 years ago….. Even being born there you could'nt drag me back to that dump for all the money in the world…….

All that's missing is a picture of the 405 at 5pm on a Friday.

LA born and raised. This city rocks. We have such diversity and loads of culture that if u have a job it’s nearly impossible to experience it all. I live in an area that’s about an even split 25% Hispanic, white, Asian and black and yet except for a few gangbangers here and there everyone gets along pretty damn well. I’ll never get tired of this place. And do I need mention it’s been in the 80’s the past few days?

Even though I'm 2 years and half the world away from LA now, I will still take it over any other big city out there. Tanished glitz and broken glamour, it's still a city that is amazingly diverse and welcoming. From the Chive offices in Venice to the Chavez Ravine and all the randomness between, I still love LA.

I don’t understand, looks just like every other major metropolitan area

#9 reminds me of an old country song, "I Sang Dixie As He Died." If you know the song, you'll know what I mean. I have the same response to this gallery as I did to the one on Manhattan – the pics are really interesting to look at, but I have no intention of going there.

Too bad the subway system got hijacked… Anyways edmonton gets this mixture of snow and dirt, looks like the entire city gets covered in diarrhea.. Enjoy the sun and sand fuckers..

Good job there Chive!! Kate Upton-sih previous post with NY pics and Rosie O’Donnell-ish pics of LA… nice comparison there. Mainly an ugly place generally speaking, but the beaches, the bitches, the vibe, the parties and the whole package is quite BETTER than any "other big city in America" bla bla bla bla. Ops, another freaking blue sky day with perfect sun out there as the rest of the year?? Stick with all your NYC freaking european city-like huge downtown living in a sh**hole for $2,000 or the big business and opportunities in "any other big city in America". Good luck with that, f***ers, exceuse me but going to Venice Bitch for breakfast….
