Something is rotten in the Denver airport (13 Photos)

Located 25 miles from Denver on a plot of land encompassing 53 square miles (twice the size of Manhattan), sits one of the most curious airpots in the world, The Denver International Airport. Leo and I had a long layover at the airport last weekend. As we walked around, we couldn't help but notice that something about this place isn't right. So I did some digging.

*Note: I'm not a conspiracy guy in any way, I fancy myself as more of a beer drinker, so take this post more in the spirit of WTF than an accusation. But anybody who has flown through Denver Airport will tell you this place is a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

Let's start at the beginning. Denver Airport was commissioned in 1989 at a cost of 1.7 billion dollars. The airport was finished in 1995, 2 years late, at a cost of 4.8 BILLION dollars, roughly 3.1 billion over budget, like ya' do. The airport was privately funded, and nobody really knows by whom. A marker stone in the terminal reads the airport was funded by The New World Airport Commission.

It should also be noted that Denver had a completely functional airport, Stapleton, that many people liked just fine. Stapleton was only 6 miles from Denver after all.

There was really no need to build the airport in the first place… unless you needed a construction project up above to mask a larger construction project happening down below. And this is where the conspiracies begin.

Many people believe that the largest underground bunker in the world lies beneath the Denver airport. Specifically a 360,000 sq. foot bunker, built by the New World Order to house the elites in case of economic collapse or nuclear holocaust. The construction of the Denver airport was necessitated as a dumb show; an above ground construction project to hide the the creation of something that lies beneath, hiding in plain sight.

Hints that the Denver airport is hiding something big are everywhere. Visitors to the Denver Airport will immediately notice a number of mysterious masonic symbols and murals clearly depicting the end of the word. They're hard to miss. Many believe these murals hold a deeper meaning which can be gleaned by the initiated of the New World Order and Freemasons. Let's have a look.

Finally, let’s return to those bunkers. The photo above is a blueprint of 5 buildings that were mysteriously buried during the early days of construction on the Denver Airport. These five large buildings were fully constructed and subsequently deemed to have been ‘positioned incorrectly.’

Rather than being demolished, the buildings were ordered to be buried, yes buried. The ‘underground bases’, as they are referred, are currently being used as “storage” according to airport authorities. This fact is not debated. We already know there is an underground structure beneath the airport. The real question is how deep the worm hole goes. We may never know…

UPDATE BY LEO: President Obama was in Denver Sept 27th last year when Comet Elenin passed by the earth, “barely missing” us by 22 miles. Some say, that if the comet would have struck earth, it’s back to the stone-age for us. Nonetheless, their was a chance that it could have hit and President Obama was conveniently ushered to Denver… which, in my opinion, adds more to the existence of not only a military bunker, but also the largest, most advanced bunker in the US -because the President wouldn’t go to some half-ass bunker if there was a threat of complete world destruction. Just sayin..

UPDATE 2: Just got a weird phone call from “Government Affairs” (whatever that is) on our office phone caller ID and they hung up after we answered. If this post disappears for some reason tomorrow, you know why..

I've lived in Denver my whole life, and flown through that airport multiple times. I've always known there was some sort of conspiracy about what was beneath the airport but never this extent. For the record for a long time under the airport there was an automated baggage claim system that never worked right and was eventually scrapped. I can only assume that the bunkers were getting in the way, I should ask my friends dad who was constantly on call to repair the baggage claim system.

    • Craigery

Yes, I'm sure that's it. The bunkers are "getting in the way" of the baggage return. Because even with a multi-billion dollar budget, the engineers couldn't figure out how to fit the bunkers AND the baggage return.

      • who cares

I'm sure the "baggage return" is functioning just fine in moving massive amounts of supplies into the bunker.

    • Lylah

yeah, "to repair the baggage claim system…"

    • WTF

all i can say is your a denver derp

      • Captain Obvious

I love the irony in this comment.

      • Tom Servo

Says the guy who uses 'your' instead of 'you're'.

    • Ross

For any who would like some explanation:

    • mbs

I am a shuttle driver out of FTC and have recounted stories told to me by a guy I dated who worked the now defunct underground baggage system. It was never intended to work, just a smoke screen!

      • Red

One of the major investors in the company that developed the baggage system was United Airlines. In order to get United to sign a lease at the new airport, the city had to agree to purchasing the system. That baggage system was a major part of the airport cost overruns and delays, the technology simply didn't work.

    • Franklin1138

Is he missing random parts of his memory?

      • WTF

        wtf? u mad bro?

        • Franklin1138

Come on, man. Don't you ever watch government conspiracy movies? People who get too close to secret government ops always end up getting parts of their memory erased. Oh, sorry…maybe you're too busy watching Jersey Shore. My bad.

    • Jedidiah

Worked there as a ramp agent. As far as I can tell there is nothing fishy about the baggage system. The tunnels are used all day by rampers, we just drove through them rather than loading baggage in the belt system.

Several years ago I found a conspiracy theory on DIA that claimed there is a bunker 7 stories underground where alien Dracos held captive all the missing children. I've been to DIA several times, and it does feel like a big negative splap, but there are always a bazillion people stressed out and rushing around all over the place. I think a lot of folks have too much time and refuse to use it constructively – hence the outrageous posts.
Nothing we can do about it. May as well use our time constructively where we can!

      • Anthony

It makes sense. That way by time the madness is over they have another generation trained and ready to go.

  • dan

They also have a ton of solar panels that supposedly are used for powerering various electrical areas of the airport…sounds like a perfect doomsday way to still generate power after all the coal/nuclear plants are out of commision

    • MtnClmbr

Or you could take the logical conclusion which is that they wanted to move to green energy. Denver is one of the sunniest cities in the nation, it would logically make sense to make use of it.

      • ilmill

        Ok party pooper.

  • whoknew

Little brother to the horse is in Norman OK in front of the university's art museum. It is small but just as creepy.

  • AllanA

Very interesting stuff….yet creepy "Note to self…DO NOT GO TO DIA!!"

    • Craigery

Yeah, stay home and keep that tinfoil hat on! The world is dangerous!

  • Falthor

wow. nothing more… just wow. NOT FIRST BITCHES!

  • chuck

    this is trippy

  • Andy

If there is a nuclear holocaust this is in my backyard and I won't get to use it… Sucks being poor and unimportant.

  • Tom

Interesting and definitely makes you think, although that's not a penquin..its a great auk which has already been extinct for a century. Perhaps its foretelling that the animals not incased are destined to share its fate?

  • Endo

    Not first.

    • Endo

Not the first things I've noticed when there, other than Mustang. Now I have some reading to do and a scavenger hunt to go on next time I'm there. Time to start going through some "no access" doors.

  • johnnytwotime

DIA also has an underground subway system that's miles long. SKETCHY!

    • Craigery

Even more sketchy are those large swaths of concrete where airplanes supposedly take off and land, but we know they're really symbols for the aliens to read from space.

  • Albus Q

East of the Rockies you're on the air *grabs tinfoil hat

    • Meh

Well done, sir! George Noory has stated that he will not retire until some time after 12/21/2012 just to see what happens.

    • Carina_CatsEye

  • Wes

Ya I live in Denver and we all believe there is something under there, but I also love it. All the underground train tracks also lead to more than just back and forth between terminals. There are way too many random passages if you notice when riding the train underneath.

    • MtnClmbr

That is so the trains can pass each other, and out of service trains can be moved around without disrupting the flow of traffic…

      • Craigery

No way. Those extra tunnels are for the Mole People who secretly run the world.

    • Tom

      "We?" Speak for yourself.

  • Jeff

    I'm flying there tonight!

    • Wow

Ill be there Saturday! Gonna go snooping on my lay over!

      • AnyoneForCoffee

        Photos, folks.

        • some bloke

          If you survive, obviously…

  • Sabrina

I really loved reading this seeing as I flew to and from that airport the week after Christmas last year to meet my boyfriends family. The horse was SUPER creepy. Didn't get to see the murals though so thanks for sharing ^_^

  • K9

Denver FLBP in front of the murals!!! Go Denver honey’s!

  • coinbank

i gotta tell you, i am the biggest cynic in the world, but this was a little freaky……

I am now heading to denver with a shovel in hopes of finding the door to building 5. I figure since it is separated from 1-4 that must be where the 1st class cabin is….

    • Rcarp

hmmm. except #2 is twice as deep as five… you just signed up for the foyer.

      • Rcarp

aaaaaaand I mean bunker 2 not photo 2…

  • Trevor

So is it gonna be the setting for National Treasure 3 or a new da vinci code?

  • @only_heather

My daughters flight was almost due to have a layover in Denver. I opted to drive her to SF to avoid any plane changes… wow… I guess there is a good reason why!! I don't need my 11 year old to see that crap!

    • Craigery

You're probably more of a danger to your daughter than a couple of murals in an airport.

  • CreepyMo

Relax, ya'll. This guy does some decent explaining of a lot of this stuff.

    • Tim

Nice catch – If all of this is bullshit (which i think it is) then everyone is worried for nothing. If it's a 'true story' then what i think doesn't really matter cuz i'll be dead, and so will most everyone else. In light of the options, everyone needs to drink a beer, get laid, and try to chill the fuck out

    • Craigery

That's what they WANT you to believe.

    • Menotyou

As a Mason, a CO resident, and a believer in 'end times', I still think the DIA conspiracy is a bunch of bullshit. Also, Jesse Ventura should visit CO the next time he wants to get high as fuck.

    • Stoobo

Woah! If you click the authors name you get:

"The contributor you are looking for does not exist or changed their username."

      This is intense! Woah!

  • 90sgamer

The only question is: If someone wanted to create a SECRET shelter under an airport: Why the hell would he put up all kinds of signs pointing to that instead of using normal airport-style cheap modern art for decoration?

    • Craigery

Get out of here with your rational thought!

    • zombie

To fuck with people! Why else do people ever do anything?

    • Amigo

cause they're cocky pricks that think they own the world?

    • MtnClmbr

Isn't that what super villains do? You tell people everything you are going to do, before you do it!! Common knowledge my friend 😉

    • 0ne

The best place to hide is in plain sight. The best prison is the one where you can't see the bars and think you're free.

  • Ryan

Hahaha.. Ya I've seen all the videos and conspiracy's about DIA since I live here and ya there are some creepy questions for sure.. They also added a multi-million dollar solar array when you drive in so when the world collapses they can still power "something" with solar power.. "cue creepy music"

  • Mario

ummm this is weird because I was in the Denver yesterday and will be flying out on SUNDAY

    • Craigery

OMG, if you rearrange the letters in "SUNDAY" it spells "DOOM"!

  • retired soldier

Its an airport. Worst possible place for underground long-term VIP bunkers.

    • @cpromiset

Why do you say that? Who even knows if its a bunker? How do you know it's not storing something?

  • Adam

Sometimes dot's are just right there in your face to be connected. Doesn't mean your a conspiracy nut.

  • Reed

    Mind Blown
