That's pretty damned cool. Reminds me of a Red wings game a few years ago when the power to the singer's mic went out and the crowd finished the anthem without missing a beat.

  • antitango

I've NEVER heard the entire crowd sing the National Anthem like that and that was pretty awesome!

    nice, but watch this

Thanks for your comments. Please make sure that Doug Staples knows that moreths currently taking 17P can not continue on it as is. As a mother that is 25 weeks, I have been on 17P, and was told 2 weeks ago I could not renew my prescription. My prescription for Makena was finally approved yesterday. A week ago, my insurer told me that their computer system showed a 30-day supply of Makena was$7,696, and that I would have a co-pay of $1,924. I found out just yesterday that I have an out-of-pocket maximum of $2k, so that’s all (!) I would be personally exposed to in costs. However, my insurance is still paying for this and as we all know, the costs/premiums will eventually trickle down.As for the Patient Assistance Program, my feeling is that it will indeed help women (who qualify) to help cover their costs. However, please know that the insurance companies and Medicaid (our taxpayer dollars) will still be covering the vast majority of the costs. Plus it is just more red tape to go through to get the drug. Never in my life have I had to go through hoops to get a Rx filled. I had to call the actual pharmaceutical company, and have my doctor fax a prescription directly to them wait for them to call my doctor’s office back to confirm then wait for the company to call me, etc! I will say, that everyone I’ve spoken to at KV/Ther-Rx has been helpful and gone out of their way to try and answer questions and make sure I get my next shot/dosage on time. However, this is what they should be doing, and still doesn’t excuse the high price.

i think i can watch this over and over again. at least until they take it down ahah

  • Muadieb

Why would this need taken down? Seems like more stuff like this needs to go up if you ask me.. Awesome!

    • Rick

It was taken from a tv channel, I'm keeping it up on top of the site until then

  • Steph

    Have you seen this one

  • Brandon

I live in Portland and am a huge Timbers fan. The crowd sang it last year at the season opener and sounds like it will be a tradition. The Timbers Army is like no other MLS fan base

  • Marshall

Got a little misty eye at the. It should not be taken down.

    • Rick

as I said above "It was taken from a tv channel, I'm keeping it up on top of the site until then"

  • Tom

Guy needs to stop waving that stupid tree flag around during the national anthem…

  • etcrr

    That's awesome, MOAR!

  • kevil

Ive said it for a year now,
for those that doubt that the mls will never catch on, i present the cascadian 3
    portland, seattle, vancouver.
    great great great rivalry.
    go timbers!

Why do you feel the need to sing your anthem before every sporting event, no matter how small. I can understand singing it before an international game, but every time, seems a bit of an overcompensation.

    • Rick

      …then you don't get it

      • Truth

Obviously, that was kind of my point. Most people around the world have pride in their respective nationalities and are comfortable enough in said national pride to not feel the need to make a point of it at every possible moment.

        • Steve

You seem to be implying that we do it to show off or for anyone other than ourselves. In the same way that a fan base supports its team (ie. Timbers fans supporting the Timbers by singing fight songs during the game) we sing our anthem as a way to bolster ourselves and our country. The song gives us a sense of pride, of unity, and most importantly of a communal love for our country.

We don't sing it because we're trying to prove our loyalty, we sing it because our loyalty is important to us as individuals and as a national community. The song isn't for you, it's for us. Therefore, we sing it for us and we sing it as often as we can. Proudly.

          • Truth

I suppose you would have to focus so much on you're anthem and flag when you're country is made up of so many people with such varied histories. I understand how it might make you feel as you have a sense of shared community but to the rest of the world it comes across as eye-rollingly pointless. (Before an angry flame-war starts, I like America and was just making an observation and I'm sure you're stable enough not to care what others think of you)

  • TMT

    You stay classy Portland!

  • Paul

Imagine the ENTIRE crowd at a NASCAR race doing this…… Better yet, Do away with the celebrities that DON'T know the words anyway and have the crowd take the duty. That is the way it should be anyway.

  • jim

May I present to you, the US National anthem as performed by Wayne Messmer, at the '91 NHL All-Star game, when the audience drowned out the anthem with cheers. This was back during Desert Storm, and patriotism was at one of the highest points. Not like the bullshit with the mexicans getting mad at U-S-A chants like today.
