I met my first daughter on my 2 week R&R after being the first boots on the ground in OIF and staying for a year, needless to say Ive walked out of many hairy situations but this made me cry like a school girl, and I thank you for that Chive, and thank you brother

Its a hard job. And someone has to do it. If its not you, don’t be mad at the ones who do that job. You don’t see us service members getting mad that we don’t get our McDonald’s right when we order it. Have a little respect.

Why don't we do this everyday. Bring them home.

…of course I would watch this while I'm sitting at my desk…thank you for the tears lol That was beautiful though! I don't know what I would if my father was gone for that long and I never got to see him…I would be an emotional wreck! KCCO, I'm glad you have your father back! 🙂

Chive what have I told you about making me cry?! seriously its getting very tiring having to go out of my way to do something extra manly!

I see a father reunited with his daughter first. Keep the nasty comments out, it may have been an unpopular war but it doesn't make the man an asshole. He is a hero for this moment.

To all of you "chivers" that hate on these videos. These videos are usually uploaded by bloggers to share with friends and family of a joyous moment they had with the return of their loved ones. When someone is moved, they then share the link with others, then it becomes viral. People are sharing a beautiful moment they had or that they felt. I for one, love to see these videos. It creates the ball in my throat and the wispy eyes of a shared love and joy in a world where there is a lot of pain, death, and fear. I love The Chive website for giving us a place to share these moments. So again to you "chivers" If you dont like them watch something else. Dont tear somebody up because they shared a personal moment with others. go to a website where that is the focus. You hate mongering asses. that is all

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
