Yea, but if I remember right, they used wood arrows because they actually wanted to split the arrow down the middle. These arrows were hollow. I'm pretty sure that's the difference, because I remember watching that episode too

Mythbusters determined it was impossible to split a wooden arrow in half like robin hood did, not stick one metal arrow into the tube of another metal arrow.

That is crap. No way did that happen. Where is the nock in the back of the first arrow? (nock is the small v in the back of the arrow that attaches to the bow string)

With enough practice and concentration anyone can do this. It really isn't that hard.

Yes, this takes some talent, but it's not unheard of. Couple of things: (1) The arrow in the target is a larger diameter shaft than the arrow being shot. If it wasn't, the second arrow would have splintered the first. So that right there makes it easier. (2) It's not *that* difficult to do, especially at the range this kid is shooting. I'm nowhere near as good as this kid, and I've done it three times.

I used to split arrows regularly. In our group it wasn't uncommon. It was somewhat annoying because when it happened, we'd have to replace the arrows.

Most archers try to avoid splitting an arrow, arrows aren't cheap! And it was obviously set up to penetrate the other arrow. Still a damn good shot though!

That crap really isn't as hard as it looks, any Decent hunter with modern bows can pretty much do that, not to mention he's got a high end target bow, if it were a plain recurve I'd be impressed, but I've seen, personally, 3 arrows stacked on end by being shot into each other, and that was just by a guy who hunts
