On the main page there is a lot of criticism of my personality, I don't feel like being hazed but there is a bit of a misunderstanding.
I don't hate the guy, he was very kind, polite, and understanding. We're still friends, he even helped me out on a school project when I asked him to and gives me hugs when I'm having a bad day. When I was working at the school's cafeteria and would get extra food I'd save it and share it with him so he would have a lunch when we both had class almost constantly from 8:30am to 5:30pm, this went on even after he told me he didn't feel the same way. His kind personality is why I'm still hung up on him.

One can still think he's a dumbass without hating him.

I think he's an idiot because he didn't even take the time to know what I was looking for in a guy which is probably exactly what he wanted in a girl.

He does have some piercings so I don't think the lip ring is the turn off.

I don't cheat, I was in two long term relationships (both over 2 years) and was faithful to both, one was even long distance for over a year. Cheaters can go eat shit and excrete cacti.

I was hoping making a public statement of how I should be over him would help but instead it made me feel worse about myself because I know I am just an attention seeker. I have low self-esteem, if anyone says anything bad about me it would hurt worse than when I fell on my I face on concrete last spring. I try to hold my head up and put up a strong face in vain hope that it'll help, for the most part it does. But because of those long term relationships I didn't really spend a lot of time being single so I honestly have no clue how to be on my own, and I have a hard time standing on my own two feet when I always had a rock before. Push me and I quickly come crashing down, I've accepted this to be a part of who I am as a person. The only thing I can do is pick myself back up and keep moving.

I'm not a horrible cheating bitch I was just trying to show confidence in my own aesthetic beauty because The Chive finally made me realize I actually had it. I thought I was okay, not ugly, but not beautiful. The two long term relationships were not real catches, so I didn't think I was that great. My friend encouraged me to try to make it on once I did I started to actually see it in myself. So I gained enough confidence to ask this guy out and am trying to retain that confidence dispite rejection. I am trying to continue to convince myself that I am beautiful, with or without my dyed red hair, with or without my lip ring. I was hoping the Chive would once again tell me this was so.

I apologize for the misunderstanding about what I thought of him and the misinterpretation of what I was trying to achieve with this post. I hope this helped cleared it up a little bit.

Anyone who looks at a woman and judges her by her appearance does not look deep enough. Your physical appearance is stunning, let there be no doubt about that. I can see that all the way from South Africa. You're the kind of girl I was always too nervous to even talk to, because I would see you as way out of my league. So that settles that issue.

As for your confidence, don't let being turned down make you doubt your own worth or appeal. If your crush didn't see what he wanted in you, then that is not a rejection of you as a woman or a friend. That is his choice, based on what he wants in his partner. No matter what anyone says, you are a woman of worth, and deserve to be appreciated and respected for who you are.
