    #9 major truth.
#22 I can't help but giggle at a Taylor Swift quote on the Chive

    • nickh

it's sad that I picked it up straight away…. and i'm male, time to go and look at FLBP to man up

    • RyanM

T Swift was exactly what I went to and I'm male too.

    • hark1985

TheChive has been very deep today… I just went outside and threw bricks for 30 mins

    • 6655321

Yes, no one has ever said that before.

    • Herby Sagues

The reason of other people's insecurities is because they compare themselves to me.

  • Mac

    first

    • Matt

Mac, get off of here, this is John's post.

    • Underbaker

You failed, you are #2 , as your punishment you must check this guys sideburns for lice.

#2 You know what? I think I can pull that off just fine

    • Simon

I feel bad for feeling bad about the spelling.

  • Matt

A lot of thought is given to today's chive posts. Big fan.

    • Grant

Well said. You remind me of my brother Matt.

      • Matt

Thanks Grant, I appreciate that. I'm sure he is a good guy!

#14 inspirational even at age 5.

    • B_Rad

      You spelled pretentious wrong.

    • hank1231

too bad John Lennon didn't actually say that…

    • Akzombie

Really? Have u ever listened to his songs or read about his life? If he was anything it was not happy, this quote is sad, and it was meant to be sad, to illustrate his angst, his desperate loneliness and depression over the state of the world he was living in, to take it at face value is two demensional at best as (true or not) it was an artist anecdote and an attempt to illustrate the darkness within himself as well as the world in general. By you saying "inspirational, even at five," with a childlike laugh and a glow in your bright little eyes you are practically embodying the sycophantic cartoonish arch type so reviled by artists whose greatest works are so rarely understood by those that so dote upon them. No offense intended, I'm sure you are a very nice person even if you look like a pedophile in your profile pic.

      • ret

That is some damn funny…I was just about to post nothing like this.

      • http://twitter.com/bdaley84 @bdaley84

No it wasn't happy, obviously. But to have a 5 year old say happiness is what he wants out of life and then be told by an adult he doesn't understand can make someone rethink their life. Some would say that's inspirational.

And why are you so upset? Just stay calm.

      • vvv

That's amusing how you said all of that – because John Lennon never actually uttered those words

      • Akzombie

Wow I'm an asshole, sorry bdaley (you really should shave though, and don't buy a van) just the little green man in my head popping up.

        • andfukyamoms

something does not have to be happy to be inspirational, you fucking twat

          • zoom

And not all people who are happy are inspirational.

Like last week's Tanning Bed Mom. She's happy.

      • Martin

Let me guess, you're a college student (or recently graduated), unemployed and a militant liberal. Could you be the angry chick meme? Won't wash your hair, shave your legs or use deodorant?

      • Expertanize

        Akzombie –
JEEEEEEEZUS shut up with your wannabe litterary dissection of his statement… If you are a dark cloud, emo, woe is me kind of guy that thinks the world sucks, more power to you… But quit trying to act like you know John Lennon and the meaning behind his words… It's YOUR interpretation, nothing more… Well, unless your stealing your interpretation from something you read someone else say… Eitherway, go loathe somewhere else, youre killing my buzz.

      • matt

        Archetype. Moron.

    • Underbaker

I always thought his mother told him to "Let it be".

    • vince

OH MY GOD HE NEVER SAID THIS!!!! Its a great quote whoever said it but Lennon never did.

    • Akzombie

It's times like these that I am comforted by #21 lol

    • Mike

      Lennon never actually said it.

    • Jesus

Great quote. I recall saying something similar when I was in elementary. Except nobody questioned it, they just sighed and let me go back to eating paste…

  • anon

#20 [s]he's still out there. As it stands, it could read she or s.

    Still cool though.

    • anon

aaaaand I fucked it up in my own comment. COMEUPPANCE!!!!!

    • Mack

Yeah, kinda the wrong use of the brackets… but the meaning is apparent, and it's cool.

    • Graft

And for me personally I hope she is on tomorrow's hump day post….come to me……..

    • furlong

    • Brock

I do like Cat Saturday. When I'm looking at Hump Day, FLBP, etc. and my 2 year old daughter climbs up in my lap and asks what I'm looking at, I show her cats. So suck it, da kid.

    • Akzombie

I'll bet that cross is heavy, (as you're chiving at work)

    • thedude325

While this may be not a great attitude, it's true that irresponsibility invariably leaves a mess for someone else to clean up.

You know what would be inspiring? No stupid ads on the mobile site. Chive, are you going to just ignore us indefinitely or are you going to do something about it?

Remember, its US who made YOU popular, not the other way around. Don't disrespect us like this.

    • http://twitter.com/slackersavvy @slackersavvy

Do you want to pay for their cost of operation? Bandwidth costs money.
Quit trolling posts and complaining and enjoy the fact this is a subscription free site.

And now, because I have trolled, I'm serving a self mandated ten minute timeout…

    • basic economics

and how do you think they afford to support the mobile site?

      • snooch

Oh, mindless little sheep. And people wonder how things got the way they are.

        • Brady

Wow you're a joke snooch. Go watch zeitgeist again.

          • snooch

I'm a joke? You'll accept anything that's spoon fed to you, and I'm the joke?! Just because you can dream up some fictionalized justification for something doesn't mean its justifiable.

There are many ways one can make money on and from a website. Ruining a mobile site with obnoxious ads is not one of them.

Don't add input unless you know what you're talking about, boys. You're only fooling yourselves into thinking that your reasoning matters, however backwards it may be.

            • Foo

"there are many ways one can make money on and from a website. Ruining a mobile site with obnoxious ads is not one of them. "

If there are many, and you're telling people not to add input unless they are at expert level: you, then I challenge you…

Name 5 ways to make money on a non subscription website without using ads… Go.

    • GomerPyle

Stop complaining about ads! You have to pay for this stuff somehow! Take a business class or two…

    • Bodybymolson

Agreed, but for the love of bacon – KCCO.

If the chive is listening – just put out a GOOD mobile app that you charge a few bucks for (add free)

  • BrownNote

Too much reading for me after studying for finals.

  • Bw11

    Awesome stuff… #9 #13 #21

    • Steve

#9 is the pastor at my church in Charlotte NC. It's called Elevation Church. He's a good dude.

      • that's a joke, son

Now if you just subtract the irrational belief in magical sky daddies, you'd have an awesome guy.

        • You're a joke, son

Not everything in life is rational. This post proves that.

  • http://echogeo.wordpress.com/ echogeo

Two thought provoking posts in a row, Chive.
    Nicely done.
