This is wrong, there completely different calenders one lunar the other goes by the sun.

And the mayan calendar DID account for leap year…it was just designed correctly enough to not NEED a leap year.

The Mayan calendar works off of the number of DAYS, not years, so your argument is moot.

  • Kapelski

This is wrong, not because of lunar, or solar or whatever. The fact is the leap year doesn't magically add a day, or whatever. If the pope who created the leap year, and the myan calendar creator were to meet and sit down and discuss the day, because they are counting days, they would arrive at the same day, however they just wouldn't agree on what to call it. The pope would call it December 21, 2012, but they Mya would call it something completely different. this man explains it better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpYtLcRKuPk&fe

The Pope did not create the leap year. It was Julius Caesar. The Leap Year predates Christianity in any form.

considering the fact the Mayan calender is based on celestial events this is not even close to being right.
