Why don't you ask the artists that question? ie Banksy and Shepard Fairy? They are the one's selling their own art. Yes, THEIR own art. Which means they created it and are entitled to do what ever the f*@# they want with it.

I did some investigating after watching the flick. Pretty sure Mr. Brainwash was a diversion by Banksy. And if you read/know anything about Banksy, there is a good chance "Hanksy" is in fact "Banksy". He gets a hard on faking people out.
