A half million dollars?!!! Just because this guy felt "displaced"? Couldn't we have just left this guy in Korea, and used that money to send an American born kid to engineering school?

A team of engineers took years to figure out how to do that? Gimme a break, its not much different from a cantilevered deck or balcony, just on a different scale, bolted to a huge concrete monolith, and for an artistic rather than utilitable purpose. I won't question the reason for it -since art is too subjective – but the alleged demand of engineering resources seems ridiculous. They figure out bridges and skyscrapers quicker than that, don't they? But what do I know?!
