If you take a close look at the photographs you'll notice that he walked over the Horseshoe Falls, not the actual Niagara Falls (which is off to the left of the pictures).

I don't know what you're talking about. Niagara Falls IS the Horseshoe Falls. There are three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls. One is the Horseshoe Falls, which is the only part of the falls in Canadian territory, while America has Bridal Veil Falls, which is where the famous Cave of the Winds is, and the American Falls, which is further north of where Wallenda walked. The American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls are separated by Goat Island, which is a State Park in New York, which is where he started the walk from. It is the single most powerful place I've ever seen because you can stand right up against thousands of gallons of water rushing over a ledge every second and reach out to almost touch it. Nothing like it.

Lol. This is my good friends cousin. His side of the Wallendas decided to NOT do stuff like this.

  • The Metal

    I wanna try this.

not as impressive as the guy who did it with a stove on his back, which he then took off and used to cook an omelette halfway across, that guy had a moustache

    • Wickedslick

HIs name was Blondin and he also walked across with a guy on his back once.

This asshole have to go through customs? Found a loop hole for smuggling shit into the states!!

    • http://twitter.com/timchipp @timchipp

He did, actually. It was staged to have him deliver a staged line about inspiring people to make their dreams come true, but he did "go through customs" once he got to Canada.

What a bunch of stupid asses. Chive could do a Darwin post just on the dumb ass comments in this thread.
It's real easy to hide behind a monitor and call someone else a pussy because the two cities and a sponsor made him wear a tether. If you would have seen that tether close up, you would have seen that it was a great idea but in reality would have only delayed a fall.
As soon you your OWN testicles drop, why don't you get permits from the City of Niagara Falls, NY and Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada and you can do it yoursef… Hell, I live close enough I'd even pick you up at the airport… Of course I wont have to because you woosie jackasses will be too busy fapping over Future Leaky Breast Implants.

To those of us who have a little respect for a guy willing put on a hell of a good show, not to mention just being one hell of a nice human being, kudos to you… And HIGH EFFING FIVES to Nik Wallenda. Looking forward to you Niagara Falls venue and GOOD LUCK AT THE GRAND CANYON.

He had to have his passport with him.
He WAS greeted by customs on the Canadian side.

He was on a wireless mic the whole walk. At one point he said "I feel like a jackoff wearing the harness"
There were strong rumours he was going to take the harness off before performing, but under the threat of being massively sued, he couldn't.

Read the articles. The harness and added hardware was pretty heavy for a lengthy walk, across a wire of that width over an ammount of rushing water.
Anyone saying the 'Niagara Falls' is on the American side is just jelous that the Canadian part of the falls is better :P
