I guess I just don't get it why is pedobear funny. Why does the Chive sell items with pedobear on them. I guess I don't think child molestation is a joke or even remotely funny. A large part of my job is doing computer examinations on individuals who download and trade child porn. There is nothing funny about seeing a baby raped and crying in pain on a changing table. I like the Chive like everyone else but profiting by selling stuff with the child molesters mascot is wrong. Maybe it is funny to you until it's your kid that ends up a victim.

The actual act of child molestation is not funny in any way, shape, or form. It is a terrible, terrible occurrence that unfortunately countless people have experienced in their life and it is my firm belief that all convicted pedophiles should be gelded and/or forced to eat their severed genitalia.

That being said, the Pedobear meme in and of itself does not encourage, endorse, or condone pedophilia in any way. Everyone (save pedophiles obviously) is well aware of how terrible pedophilia is, NO ONE advocates for it, and most of the humorous appeal of the meme comes from the shock value and the irony of the image, in the sense that a cute and cuddly bear is representing an act that is not cute or cuddly by any stretch of the imagination.

Call it a "sick sense of humor", call it "poor taste", call it "morally questionable" call it whatever you like, and you might be right. Does that mean it is wrong of theChive to appeal to those who posses a darker sense of humor than yourself? No, I do not believe so. Everyone is entitled to laugh at anything they deem humorous, and who are you to say that the joy of laughter should not be enjoyed by those who have a different sense of humor than yourself?

My apologies if you do not find the meme to be funny, but there are significantly worse web blogs that make japes that are in far poorer taste than this, if you don't enjoy an image you find on the internet, stop looking at it, but don't ruin our good time by telling us we are wrong to laugh at something you don't find funny, it simply makes you look like a holier-than-thou doucher.
